Laura Morett’s Record For Most Votes Cast Against In ‘Survivor’ History Remains Intact

Christian Hubicki comes up two votes shy of breaking Laura Morett’s record for most votes cast against during a single season.

From the moment the merge happened during Survivor 37, the former Goliath tribe gunned after Christian Hubicki hard as they believed him to be the brains behind the David tribe. Week after week his fellow tribe members tried and failed to evict him until they were finally successful during Episode 13 – one week before the season finale.

During the conversation with Jeff Probst before the vote, Christian mentioned that he believed he had become dangerously close to breaking the record for most votes cast against in a single season. A legacy which he agreed was a bit of an honor as it spoke to how much of a threat everyone considered you to be.

As die-hard fans of Survivor know, it is Laura Suzanne Kampstra Morett, a contestant from Survivor: Samoa and Survivor: Blood vs. Water, who currently holds that record with 19 votes cast against her during a single season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the only reason Christian didn’t break Laura’s record is that the tribe split the vote partly because they couldn’t agree on who to vote out and partly because they couldn’t determine who had an immunity idol.

“Honestly, that did cross my mind. Once you lose, you start reflecting on what legacy you might have left in the game. Having a quantifiable record is an easy thing to point to! Mostly though, I was just proud that I was able to dodge as many bullets as I did,” Christian said as he opened up about how it would have been nice to leave with a legacy such as most votes cast against you in a single season. He, however, admittedly was just proud of himself for making it as far as he did in the game.

Entertainment Weekly, however, proceeded to clarify that Laura’s record depends on how you look at it as she was technically voted out twice during Blood vs. Water. Laura also had another legacy that season being the first – and only – castaway to be voted out by a family member that they went into the game playing with.

“Laura is free to maintain her title. Certainly, it is an advantage to padding your vote total if you can come back into the game. However, so is playing on a season with hidden immunity idols,” Christian added to the conversation when asked if he thought it was fair for Laura to claim the record given her unique situation.

Christian argued playing an immunity idol or a hidden power to save yourself from eviction was really no different than Laura getting to come back in the game with a second life and a second chance to win.

The season finale of David vs Goliath airs next week only on CBS.

Ashley Graham shares naked selfie 'fresh out of the sauna'

The 31-year-old  looked refreshed as she showed off her curvy figure in the mirror after enjoying the facilities on Ko Lan island, which is just off the coast of Pattaya in the Gulf of Thailand.

As a spokeswoman for body positivity, the model oozed confidence as she relaxed ahead of her appearance at the renowned pageant which is being hosted in the country today.

Ashley recently gave fans an insight into what goes on backstage at the world famous pageant, during an interview with Good Day Austin.

She admitted: "I am so excited to meet all the new girls and to be backstage of all the madness, but also to be in Thailand, how exciting!"

She also opened up on what it was like to work with the show's stage host, Steve Harvey.

"Oh my gosh, Steve is hysterical and it's a laugh a minute," she revealed.

"He is the same guy that you see onstage as you see off stage and I love working with him.

"I feel that we've got really great banter and Neyo is performing as well."

Talking about her role, she revealed: "I'm going to be talking to the girls as they're between hair and makeup, as they're changing their clothes, as they're literally lining up to go on stage and walk whatever that subject is supposed to be for that moment."

She added: "It's exciting and it's nerve wracking for them a little bit, but they've been prepping for this for a really long time.

"They already know they drill and they're already all in Thailand going through the dress rehearsals, so when I get there they are already going to be chilled back with their arms crossed."

The host joked: "Ah, I don't know. I feel like you are going to be getting the real moments."

Ashley replied: "I think that I will be.

"I think that there are going to be some girls that are going to be really chill and there's going to be some girls that are probably crying because they are so nervous, but that's the beauty of a competition and that's the beauty of backstage at a Miss Universe.

"This has been something that some of these women have been working on nearly their whole lives and it's a lot of pressure.

"It's not only for themselves, but they are speaking up for their country.

"To be able to get that raw emotion and to be able to hear from them and their heart and what's they're so passionate about is really interesting."

This isn't the first time the American model has presented the Miss Universe either, as she has presented alongside Steve Harvey as backstage host since 2016.

Tom Cruise & Miles Teller Are All Smiles Filming ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ — See Hunky Pic

Oh baby! Tom Cruise and Miles Teller were pictured wearing flight gear while filming scenes for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ in Lake Tahoe, California, and they look incredible. See the photo, here.

Is it June 2020 yet? We’re dying to see Top Gun: Maverick — the 1986 hit film’s highly-anticipated sequel — now that we’ve seen a new photo of Tom Cruise, 56, and Miles Teller, 31, filming a scene in Lake Tahoe, California. The two hunky actors were caught wearing green jumpsuits, which had straps and pockets everywhere, and they look fantastic in them! Tom actually doesn’t even look a day older than he was when he filmed the first movie. In fact, if we didn’t know any better, we’d say Tom and Miles look like they could be brothers!

In the photo seen below, Tom and Miles seem to be having a laugh over something as they walk across the movie’s set. There’s also snow on the ground, which is pretty interesting, considering the guys are filming in California. But, it is several hours north of San Francisco, so completely understandable.

In the movie, which will be released on June 26, 2020, Miles plays pilot trainee Bradley Bradshaw, the son of Maverick’s late partner Nick “Goose” Bradshaw (played in the original by ER‘s Anthony Edwards). And Tom is, of course, reprising his role as Lt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell — 32 years after the original. By the time the movie comes out, it’ll actually be 34 years. Pretty crazy, right? This time around, though, Tom’s character will be a captain and a flight instructor, rather than a fighter pilot.

Sadly, not a lot is known about the sequel’s plot, but after seeing this new photo, we’re eagerly anticipating any new spoilers that could come our way!

AceShowbiz -Rapper/actor Romeo Miller (Lil’ Romeo) has reportedly in the running to land his dream role alongside “idols” Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in “Bad Boys 3”.

The son of hip-hop legend Master P took to Instagram this week, begs December 10, to share the exciting news with fans, claiming he had passed the initial round of auditions and was one step closer to joining the cast.

Romeo shared a snap of the email he had received inviting him back for another reading on his Instagram Story timeline, and revealed he would be taking some time to “study” hard.

Few details about the long-awaited “Bad Boys 2” sequel have been released since Will and Martin confirmed they had officially signed on last month, but the project, titled “Bad Boys for Life“, is set to be directed by rising filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

It was also recently reported that actor Joe Pantoliano, who starred in the original “Bad Boys” in 1995 and reprised his role as Captain Conrad Howard for 2003’s “Bad Boys 2”, would also be returning for the sequel, which is expected to begin production in early 2019 ahead of a 2020 release.

“Bad Boys for Life” will feature Will back as Miami Police Department Detective Mike Lowrey, opposite Martin as his partner, Detective Marcus Burnett.

It’s not yet known if Gabrielle Union will be involved in the new movie; she was introduced as Martin’s onscreen sister, Special Agent Sydney ‘Syd’ Burnett in “Bad Boys 2”, and is currently shooting a TV spin-off, set in Los Angeles.

Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark’ Sets Release Date

CBS Films

Guillermo del Toro’s “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark,” based on the popular kids’ book series, now has an official 2019 release date and a creepy new logo.
The film, which del Toro cowrote with the Hageman brothers (“Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia”) is about a group of teens who try to solve a series of “sudden and macabre deaths” in their town. The cast includes Zoe Margaret Colletti (“Wildlife”) and Dean Norris (“Breaking Bad”).
It’s based on the first of three children’s horror story collections by Alvin Schwartz which were memorably (and disturbingly) illustrated by Stephen Gammell.
The movie is being directed by Norwegian filmmaker André Øvredal. We’re guessing it’ll be more along the lines of his PG-13 film “Trollhunter” than the R-rated (and underrated) “Autopsy of Jane Doe.”
“Scary Stories” will hit U.S. theaters on August 9, 2019, which pits it against Disney’s “Artemis Fowl.”

Rightor Doyle’s ‘Bonding’ Short-Form Dark Comedy Series Picked Up By Netflix

Netflix has picked up Bonding, the seven-episode short-form dark comedy series from Rightor Doyle (Barry). Originally announced as blackpills original to run on the digital platform, the series starring Zoe Levin (Palo Alto) and Brendan Scannell (Heathers) will instead be distributed by Netflix next year as a global original series.

Filmed on location in New York last fall with backspills and Anonymous Content producing, Bonding had its premiere at Outfest this past summer and was screened at other festivals. According to sources, blackpills had an option to put it on their platform but instead producers brought it to Netflix, which bought the series fully produced and there will be no editing on it.

Written, directed and executive produced/showrun by Doyle, Bonding, whose episodes are 12-18 min in length, is loosely based on his life experiences. It centers on the relationship between former high-school BFFs, Pete (Scannell), a recently out gay man, and Tiff (Levin), a grad student and secretly one of New York City’s top dominatrixes, who reconnect in an unexpected way years later.

Earlier description of the series was more descriptive: Tiff has a little secret: she’s one of New York City’s top dominatrixes, and she’s about to tie Pete up in her underground world of sexual secrecy and BDSM. (watch a trailer below)

Co-starring in the series are Micah Stock (Escape at Dannemora) as Doug, D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place) as Daphne, Eric Berryman (Empathy, Inc.) as Andy and Theo Stockman (High Maintenance) as Josh.

Executive producers are Dara Gordon, Jacob Perlin, Nina Soriano, Tom Schembri, David Sigurani

But Faye has denied this will give her an advantage.

Speaking on The One Show she said: "I think you'll find a few of us have [dancing backgrounds].

"I can’t wait to have a man twirling me around the ballroom.”

On BBC Radio Two Graeme said: “It’s true – I’ve signed up for Strictly!

“Keeping it under wraps from my kids has been nearly impossible; they are huge fans of the show and I can’t wait to see their faces when I tell them.

“I don’t have any background in dancing but can do the floss so let’s hope this comes in useful!”

Danny John Jules – OUT

On August 13, 2018, it was announced that Red Dwarf star Danny John Jules would be joining Strictly Come Dancing.

The 57-year-old actor, who also starred as Dwayne Myers in Death In Paradise, said he couldn’t wait to get started on the show and was looking forward to joining the line up.

But he's been hit by fix claims as it was revealed he is a trained dancer.

Joe Sugg

Zoella's YouTube star brother Joe Sugg has announced he has signed up for Strictly.

The 26-year-old is hoping to "launch into the mainstream".

Speaking about taking part, the star – who is the first YouTuber to get a coveted spot on the BBC show – said: "I'm honestly so chuffed to be involved in the show this year!

"Not going to lie, I'm very nervous about it, it's totally out of my comfort zone and I know it will be a huge challenge but that's what life is all about I guess."

Vick Hope – OUT

On August 15, 2018, Vick revealed she would be joining Strictly Come Dancing.

The DJ broke the news on her Capital Radio Breakfast Show.

She told co-host Roman Kemp she was ready to don her dance shoes with hope of bringing home the glitterball trophy.

Vick said: "I can reveal that every Saturday night I get to be close to Faye from Steps… I'm doing Strictly!"

Kate Silverton – OUT

Newsreader Kate Silverton has also been confirmed in this year's line-up.

Strictly fans eagerly await Kate's performances.

She explained how anxious she was about the whole thing saying: "I'm sick with nerves and jangling with excitement.

Susannah found fame in 2011 after co-hosting the show What Not to Wear alongside Trinny Woodall.

She also previously tried her hand at reality TV, appearing on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

She was the first celebrity voted off the show.

'Aquaman' Soundtrack Features Pitbull Covering Toto's 'Africa' For Some Reason

Quick – when you think of Aquaman, what’s the first song that immediately springs to mind? Whatever song you just thought of, I can almost guarantee that it wasn’t “Africa” by Toto. But that’s the song you’re going to hear in the film when James Wan‘s Aquaman washes into theaters on December 21. Sort of. Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull, has a song on the Aquaman soundtrack called “Ocean to Ocean”, which repurposes the chorus of Toto’s “Africa” for its own chorus. Why? I don’t know, you’ll have to ask Pitbull next time you see him. For now, listen to the “Africa” cover from the Aquaman soundtrack below.

Ocean to Ocean

I don’t know, folks. I just don’t know. Sometimes, songs like this doesn’t actually appear in the movie. They’ll be on the soundtrack release, or play over the end credits. But I can confirm Pitbull’s “Ocean to Ocean” is indeed in the film proper – it plays during a scene where Aquaman and Mera jump out of a plane. Hearing the chorus of Toto’s “Africa” pop-up in the middle of this song is jarring, to say the least. Pitbull issued the following statement regarding his contribution to the Aquaman soundtrack:

“The ocean, the sea and any body of water, to me, is true freedom. The ocean has always been the border from where my parents came from Cuba and the United States, which gives us freedom. That’s why I respect water. Bottom line: water gives us freedom.”

Alright then! Truth be told, the goofiness of this song seems to fit right in with the atmosphere of Aquaman, which has been described by several critics as unapologetically silly. And that’s fine!

For comparison, here’s the original “Africa” by Toto.

Africa

It’s been quite a year for strange songs on superhero soundtracks. In addition to Pitbull’s “Ocean to Ocean”, we also had Eminem’s absolutely confounding “Venom“, where the rapper advised us all to let the devil in.

Venom

Between these two songs, which was the worse decision? I’d go with “Venom.” Neither of these songs are very good, but the Pitbull track is light and silly enough that you can kind of go along with it. In sharp contrast, Eminem shouting about licking salad bowls, and literally starting the song off with the lyric “I got a song filled with shit!” is just a bridge too far. You win this round, Pitbull.

The Aquaman soundtrack, which is primarily comprised of the score by Rupert Gregson-Williams, is available today.
