Davina McCall ‘almost doubles her money as she sells six-bedroom mansion with pool, tennis court and coach house, for £6.25m’… after divorce from husband Matthew Robertson

She split from her husband of 17 years in 2018 and recently revealed she is now looking for a man who can be her ‘partner’ in life.

And as Davina McCall begins her fresh start in 2019, she has reportedly sold her former marital home for almost  double what she paid for it, a mammoth £6.25m, reports The Sun. 

The presenter, 51, put her six bedroom mansion in East Sussex on the market in May, around the time her divorce from Matthew Robertson was finalised.

Davina snapped up the house, which was once a medieval nunnery, in 2009, when according to Land Registry records, the sprawling estate lost 13.9 per cent of its value the year before, allowing Davina to take advantage of falling property prices to purchase the pad for £3.2m.

A local property expert told The Daily Mail at the time: ‘With the first green shoots of recovery starting to show in the property market, now is an ideal time to buy, so Davina obviously decided to strike while the iron’s hot.

‘This kind of estate is very rare, particularly in such a picturesque location, so I think it will turn out to be a very shrewd investment at just the right time.’       

Davina and Matthew went their separate ways after 17 years of marriage in 2018. The former couple share three children Holly, Tilly and Chester.

She said: ‘What I want is, I want men – and this is for my daughters and for my son and this is for me – to stand next to me as a partner. So everything is a partnership.’  

With traditional gender roles changing, Davina told TV host Matt Johnson and life coach Ben Bidwell on The Naked Professors podcast series that finding someone supportive is the most important quality she’s looking for.

She said: ‘It’s not like ‘I’m going to be at work all day and I’m going to cook dinner for you.’

‘We are in a massive time of change. It’s like ‘this is how you can be a man, and find your way as a man and stand next to a woman and support her and she will support you.’
