Actress Paz de la Huerta was rushed to the hospital Sunday when an associate called the police and reported that she was suicidal, according to sources.
The associate called 911 from de la Huerta’s Upper West Side home and said she was “locked in a room” and “possibly suicidal,” sources told The Post.
But an attorney for the former “Boardwalk Empire” actress — who has accused Harvey Weinstein of rape, and is suing the pervy producer — insisted Monday that the incident was overblown.
“She’s fine. The Weinstein mediation has just been another setback and irritant. It was an episode of depression or upset, and I think perhaps blown out of proportion,” said her Los Angeles-based lawyer Aaron Filler, who said he spoke with her that day.
“The episode last night is best characterized as a dispute — with some overreaction. I was not there and I don’t have all the details, but I believe the hospitalization was unnecessary. There was no assault, there is no police complaint,” he added.
De la Huerta filed a $60 million lawsuit against Weinstein in California Superior Court last year, claiming she lost millions in income after he allegedly raped her twice in December of 2010.
Both alleged assaults occurred in her Manhattan apartment just days apart.
Weinstein’s defense team has called her allegations “preposterous and, unfortunately, the product of an unstable personality with a vivid imagination.”
