After months of anticipation, the world finally got its first look at little Archie Harrison when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry debuted their little bundle of joy just two days after he was born.
But to many, that short little look just wasn’t enough to satisfy royal baby fever. The public is already anxious for another peek at the firstborn son of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The question is, will we have to wait months for another look at the newest royal, or will Meghan share pictures sooner rather than later?
Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle follow in the path of Prince William and Kate Middleton?
Followers first saw each of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children a few days after they were born. Keeping with tradition, the new parents showed off their new babies at the doors of Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital. We saw Harry and Meghan take a similar step when they met with the press at Windsor Castle just two days after Archie Harrison’s birth.
After the first appearance, it was about a month before William and his wife released more photos. For Prince George, the couple released a family photo featuring the new parents, George, and their cocker spaniel Lupo about one month after the prince’s birth. Similarly, four photographs of Princess Charlotte were released about a month after her birth, though these pictures were taken about two weeks prior. Prince Louis’ first photo was released much sooner than his siblings. His first photo captured his older sister Charlotte kissing his forehead. This picture was taken on Charlotte’s third birthday, just one week after Louis was born.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared a peek of Archie over the weekend
Baby Archie came just in time for Meghan to celebrate her very first mother’s day. The couple used their Instagram account to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to women around the world. In addition to their message, the post also acknowledged the couple’s newest addition. The caption was accompanied by a sweet picture of the new baby’s feet, cradled by his mother’s hands.
The post was also a touching tribute to Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana. Little Archie’s feet were photographed in front of a garden of light blue forget-me-nots, Princess Diana’s favorite flower. The couple also honored the princess by writing: “Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered.”
When will baby Archie be seen next?
If the new parents take a path similar to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the next public outing for Master Archie will be at his christening. The christening usually takes place a few months after the child’s birth. For Prince George, it was three months.
However, keep in mind the public will only see little Archie if Harry and Meghan choose to allow a photographer’s bay outside of the church. They could elect to keep the christening a private affair. In either case, the family will likely release the official christening photos.
When will Meghan Markle let us see Archie Harrison again?
It is very likely that Meghan and Harry will decide just how much of Archie’s life they want to share with the public as they go along. Both Harry and Meghan have proven they are not tied to tradition and will choose the path that fits their family the most.
This could mean one of two things. We could see the new parents use their official Instagram account to share pictures of their new baby on a more frequent basis. We have already seen three photos of the new royal just one week after his birth.
Conversely, given the heightened obsession over the new baby, the couple may choose to be extra cautious with how much they share. This may mean that they limit the number of photos they share and keep events like the baby’s christening a family affair.
