SOME see it as a low key start to the Leger meeting on Wednesday.
But while it may lack a Group 1 Classic, it's ten times better than the usual slop we get served through the week so enjoy it I say.
In the opening heat, MISTY GREY (Doncaster, 1.50) looks a bet considering the experience edge he has over his three rivals.
All three of those come into this off the back of wins on debut. Bar Lazuli none of them got me jiggy in the slightest and with my pick rated 99 they have it all to do to get past him on only their second day at school.
Mark Johnston's juvenile has eye-catching form behind the likes of Pinatubo and Golden Horde and a repeat of those will see him hard to beat.
It's never the hottest race in the world and Misty Grey won't have to eke out much more to come home in front. At the prices he looks a top bet in my book.
Profit and Loss – Using SP*
Later on the card I like another in a relatively small field as WALKINTHESAND (Doncaster, 4.45) looks a bit of value.
He gets a bit of weight from most of the field as one of only two three-year-olds and back up to ten furlongs looks a real player under Ryan Moore.
He was an impressive winner of a red-hot handicap at Newmarket over this trip, before a creditable run giving stones away to the likes of Forest Of Dean.
Plenty in this have questions to answer and I really like his chances here.
1.50 Doncaster – MISTY GREY 1pt win (Bet now)
4.45 Doncaster – WALKINTHESAND 1pt win (Bet now)
