What happened to Robert Hathaway, was he murdered in St Lucia and who are his bisexual roommates?

The 'charming Englishman', 66, was found dead on blood-soaked sheets by his two live-in girlfriends.

What happened to Robert Hathaway?

Robert's naked body was found at his home on Sunday January 13, at around midday.

The Brit, from Wiltshire, was sharing his hillside house in Gros Iset, with two much younger women, whom he referred to as his “bisexual roommates,” The Times reported.

But to others, he labelled the young women as “a bisexual couple of girls… like two girlfriends", according to a conversation posted on Facebook following his death.

A police spokeswoman told The Daily Mail: “We are looking at every possibility, and Mr Hathaway’s relationship with local women is something we are investigating as a possible motive.”

Was he murdered in St Lucia?

Mr Hathaway founded the Marigot Sunshine marina catering for smaller sailing yachts and superyachts.

At the age of 37, he spent a sabbatical year cruising the Mediterranean, prompting him to change careers and become operations director of a yacht building and repair company in Southampton.

It says he sailed to St Lucia in 2001 and bought land in Marigot Bay, going on to found his business five years later.

A murder investigation has been launched, following his death in St Lucia.

Who are his bisexual roommates?

Neighbours and friends have told reporters they believe his infatuation with young local women, and his complicated private life, could provide clues to help track down his killer.

Hathaway described his "bisexual roomates" as his “carers” to some people, as they apparently helped him with his debilitating arthritis, The Times reported.

But to others, he labelled the young women as “a bisexual couple of girls… like two girlfriends", according to a conversation posted on Facebook following his death.

Hathaway added: “One young gf [girlfriend] living with me alone would be bored witless, so this arrangement seems logical and two months in seems to work.

“It helps that they don’t like wearing clothes.”

The two young women, named locally as Kim and Liz, are believed to have discovered Hathaway’s body when they returned home last Sunday.
