What was Colin Kroll's cause of death and when did he found Vine and HQ Trivia?

But where did he die, what killed him, and when did he found the apps? Find out here…

What was Colin Kroll's cause of death?

Colin Kroll died at home in New York in a suspected drug overdose, it has been reported.

His girlfriend is said to have raised the alarm with police when she couldn't get hold of him.

Police sources told the New York Post that cops accompanied the unnamed girlfriend to his Manhattan apartment, where his body was discovered just after midnight yesterday.

Marijuana and heroin were found nearby, and he was declared dead at the scene, the source said, as cops also said an envelope containing white power was also recovered.

When did he found Vine?

Colin Kroll founded Vine in 2012 with Dom Hofmann and Rus Yuspov.

The company was sold to Twitter for nearly £25m in October 2012 – several months before its January 2013 launch date.

It became the most-downloaded iOS app in April 2013.

Vine permanently shut down in October 2016 after users abandoned the platform for YouTube, Instagram, and Snapchat.

When did he found HQ Trivia?

Kroll co-founded HQ trivia with Rus Yuspov in August 2017.

He was named CEO in September this year after being fired from Twitter.

In a statement on his death, HQ Trivia said: "We learned today of the passing of our friend and founder, Colin Kroll, and it's with deep sadness that we say goodbye.

"Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."
