This week I try …lower-lash extensions
The lowdown In the past I’ve been addicted to upper lash extensions and now I am going to give my lower lashes a whirl. The process is much the same, with a lash expert gluing the individual extensions to my existing lashes to create volume and length.

Pain factor It is nice lying down while the lashes are applied (I have been known to occasionally nod off, and even snore).
When I open my eyes, the very outer lashes are slightly stuck together, but they separate as soon as I open my eyes wide.
Downtime About 30 minutes for a set of bottom lashes.
Results My real lower lashes are so pale you can barely see them, so having them defined frames and balances my eyes. For more impact, I apply mascara designed specially for lash extensions, creating a slightly Twiggy-esque effect.

Where to get it Sydney and Melbourne: Love Those Lashes, lovethoselashes.com.au. Cost: $35.
At home For extra impact, try Xtreme Lashes Length & Volume Mascara ( $28).
Trend: Blushed Cheeks
As make-up artist Bobbi Brown says, blush adds a “pop of colour” to cheeks and wakes up your face. The beauty of blush is that you can layer it, from a subtle hint to a more intense hue, and play around with powder or cream.

We are always looking for a great sunscreen – and Australian Ultra Violette Extreme Screen Hydrating Body + Hand Skinscreen SPF 50+, (ultraviolette.com.au, $35), ticks
all the boxes. It moisturises, has aloe vera and vitamin E, protects from UVA and UVB, and is
water-resistant for four hours.
How do I remove individual lash extensions?
Begin by soaking a cotton pad with an oil-based eye make-up remover, cleanser or coconut oil and hold it over the lash for at least 30 second to loosen the glue and prevent you from yanking out your natural lashes. Rinse with warm water, then use a spoolie to help loosen it further if needed.
