A Place in the Sun’s Craig Rowe shares what happened while filming
A Place In The Sun’s Craig Rowe has revealed police had to intervene whilst he was filming on location in Spain for the latest season.
Earlier this week, Channel 4’s premium property-hunting show returned to the small screen and saw Ben Hillman and Laura Hamilton fronting the first two episodes.
Ahead of the new series, Craig, 50, took to social media to share some chaotic behind-the-scenes footage to whet fans’ appetites.
In a video, shared with his 6,690 Instagram followers, the presenter could be seen filming for A Place In The Sun in the Costa del Sol.
Speaking to the camera, Craig said: “So it’s Monday morning and we have a bit of a problem. So, you know the moments in life where you can’t go forward and you can’t go back?

“That’s what we have here this morning with our crew vehicle,” he said, before panning the camera to a black van which appeared to be stuck in a narrow street.
Craig continued to explain that the motor was unable to move and credited his sarcastic thanks to Google Maps and the “great driver”, who then appeared in the video and laughed.
The presenter continued to update fans in the vlog-style video, and announced that a “local gentleman” had gotten into the car and was making an attempt to manoeuvre it out of the narrow walkway.
“We’ve been stuck here for about 45 minutes,” he revealed in the surprising film. “And now the police are here as well,” he added.
In the clip, a police officer could be seen standing behind the glossy black Mercedes-Benz V Class V220d and seemed as if he was helping to direct the vehicle out of the jam.

Finally, Craig and his team were able to get back to filming the travel show and were apparently overjoyed with the result of being on the road again.
“Yay, we did it, with the help of a local. For a while there I thought, you know what? It’s one of those moments where you can’t move forward and you can’t move back. But we did it.”
Explaining the context of the video in his Instagram caption, the star wrote: “As the new series of @aplaceinthesunofficial starts tomorrow and my first episode is on Weds 8th November in Competa with Maria & Paul and this happened on the first morning of filming.
“It’s funny now, not so much at the time,” he added, before asking if fans were looking forward to watching the new series.
Since posting, social media users have flocked to the comments section to give their take on the mishap.
One Instagram user wrote: “High drama!!”
A second said: “The moral of the story is find a local taxi driver, they can drive down any road!”
“Glad you got it sorted! Have a great day,” replied a third.
New episodes of A Place In The Sun air on Channel 4 every weekday at 4pm.
