Strictly Come Dancing star Nigel Harman and his professional dance partner Katya Jones won't be performing tonight and have left the show on medical grounds.
The dancing duo were expected to perform a Charleston to Step in Time from Disney's Mary Poppins for the exciting live quarter final.
A BBC spokesperson said: “Unfortunately Nigel has sustained a rib injury which means he is unable to perform in tonight’s show and has had to withdraw from Strictly.”
A source then claimed to The Sun: "Nigel wasn't in training this morning, and other dancers were informed later on in the day. He and Katya were really disappointed as they were hoping to stay in the competition. They hadn't been in the bottom two so had a real chance of making it to the finals."
They added: "Nigel has been training really hard and really threw himself into rehearsals."
The show also spoke out on their official Instagram page and said: "Unfortunately, Nigel Harman and Katya Jones have had to withdraw from the competition. We wish Nigel a speedy recovery and they both will be very much missed by our entire Strictly family".
Fans were gutted to hear the news as one took to X, formally known as Twitter, and said: "Such a real shame your was my favourite just heard you have withdrawn from competition due to injury all the best for the future wish you speedy recovery #StrictlyComeDancing @bbcstrictly it will not be the same without you".
Another added: "Nigel Harman leaving Strictly due to injury? I’m so upset for him #Strictly".
As Nigel has now left the dancing competition, it has been said that there won't be an elimination this week and the remaining celebs will all progress through to the next round. The remaining celebs are Ellie Leach, Annabel Croft, Layton Williams and Bobby Brazier.
Nigel's shock departure was the second of the series and followed after Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice withdrew from the competition.
The Sherlock actress, 51, decided to walk away from the BBC ballroom under vague circumstances, announcing via social media: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue.
"It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside. I want to thank the incredible Production team and everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring.
"It’s a wonderful bunch of people and I’ll miss all of them," Amanda continued. "I’m so sad that I am unable to go any further. Thank you to everyone who voted and who sent wonderful messages and inspiring support. You are all amazing. Truly. Thank you. xxx."
