Layton Williams on Strictly being fun
Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole has said he thinks current star Layton Williams was “overmarked” for his Jive on Saturday night’s show.
Layton, 29, and his partner Nikita Kuzmin, 25, took to the dance floor and performed a Jive to the song Shake Ur Body and received a score of 36 out of 40 from the judges.
However, Brendan, 47, believes the pair were scored higher than what they should have got and labelled the dance as “awkward”.
Speaking to Sky Bingo, the dancer said: “Another one perhaps slightly overmarked and vying for the top spot is of course Layton Williams.
“The choreography was good, he can do things that most can’t do but, in my opinion, it wasn’t perfect and there was an awkwardness about it.

The Dancing On Ice star went on to say that the two “barely danced together” but also agreed that he thinks Layton is the best dancer on the show.
After their performance on Saturday evening, Layton and Nikita were elated after receiving 10s from both Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse.
However, Anton Du Beke said the dance got “a little heavy in the Jive kick” and although it was good, it wasn’t the best performance they’ve done.
Craig Revel-Horwood also agreed with Anton’s criticism of the pair.

Both male judges gave Layton and Nikita a score of eight each, clearly disagreeing with Motsi and Shirley’s top marks.
Fans were quick to rush to Layton’s defence on X, formerly known as Twitter, and criticised Anton for his comments.
Two weeks ago, the duo topped the leaderboard with their Salsa after receiving a perfect score of 10 from three out of four of the judges.
Layton and Nikita scored 39 out of 40, which presenter Claudia Winkleman announced has not happened in week five for 13 years.
Adam Thomas and his partner Luba Mushtuk were the unlucky ones this week as they exited the BBC show.
The two landed in the bottom two with Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington, but all four judges decided to save Angela over Adam.
