Britney Spears 'was furious with her mother' Lynne Spears over book

Britney Spears ‘was furious with her mother’ Lynne Spears when she wrote about the singer’s 2007 meltdown in her book Through The Storm

Britney Spears has written about her mother in her memoir The Woman In Me.

Turns out the Toxic singer has a big beef with mom Lynne Spears, 68.

The Circus hitmaker – who admitted she was heartbroken over her split from Justin Timberlake – specifically has a major issue with how her mother wrote about her 2007 meltdown in her 2008 book Through the Storm.

The mom of two thinks her mother was trading on her fame.

A source told Us Weekly, ‘Britney felt like she was in full meltdown mode when Lynne published her book and called the timing unf–kingbelievable.’

Lynne went on the Today show in 2008 while promoting her book to talk about the ‘challenges’ her family faced with Britney’s fame.

‘I have sat for hours thinking and thinking about everything that’s happened,’ Lynne told Meredith Vieira in September 2008.

‘It’s been a whirlwind. It’s been a wild ride for everybody,’ she added.

In her memoir, the Toxic Pony singer wrote about how upset she was that her mom was talking about ‘the darkest times in her life’ and ‘making money’ from her book.

It all led her to wonder if she was as ‘bad’ as her mother was telling everyone she was.

In 2022 Britney claimed that her mother was the driving force helping her father, Jamie Spears, 71, put the conservatorship she was under for 13 years in place.

‘A woman introduced the idea to my dad, and my mom actually helped him follow through and made it all happen,’ Britney said in a since-deleted video on YouTube.

‘It was all basically set up. There were no drugs in my system. No alcohol. No nothing. It was pure abuse.’

The Oops!…I Did It Again singer also said that she was angrier at her mom than her dad for the conservatorship.

Britney felt betrayed by her mother and sister Jamie Lynn Spears, 32, especially since they didn’t help her during her conservatorship while fans who were part of the #FreeBritney movement fought for her relentlessly.

‘To me, it was like they secretly honestly liked me being the bad one – like I was messed up, and they kind of just liked it that way. Otherwise, why weren’t they outside my doorstep, saying, “Baby girl, get in the car. Let’s go.”

‘I think that’s the main thing that hurt me. I couldn’t process how my family went along with it for so long. Their only response was, “We didn’t know.”‘

The Woman in Me hit bookstore on Tuesday, October 24.
