Cheryl Cole has hinted that she’s working on new music – despite promising to give up her career if her last single flopped.
The mum of one staged her pop comeback in November 2018, but with her single Love Made Me Do It selling just 5,000 copies in its first week, her triumphant return to the limelight was anything but.
She said at the time that if her music flopped, she’d retire from fame to focus on toddler son Bear, who she shares with ex Liam Payne.
"If it goes in at 80, it’s time for me to move on with my life," she told the Guardian Guide.
"I’m not going to jump around working hard and spending time away from my son for that."
But, despite her single entering the charts at a measly 19 before sliding down to 48 in its second week, Cheryl doesn’t seem to want to quit showbiz just yet.
A fan tweeted her a screenshot of a songwriting website where a certain ‘Cole Cheryl Ann’ was listed in the credits for a track called Let You, alongside songwriters George Astasio and Jason Pebworth, who both worked on Love Made Me Do It with her.
The screenshot revealed the song is not assigned under the International Standard Musical Work Code (ISWC), meaning no performer has yet been chosen to sing it.
The fan who shared the screenshot with Cheryl asked her: " CherylOfficial when are we discussing this?"
And she cryptically replied: "S… some day."
"Release it soon pls," the fan added.
Cheryl has moved on from her musical flop to become a judge on the BBC’s new reality talent series The Greatest Dancer, which launched last weekend.
But she’s already come under fire after the first episode initially attracted just 4.7million viewers – 600,000 less than the launch episode of The Voice.
However both shows failed to be the most watched thing on TV on Saturday – with that honour going to Michael McIntyre whose Big Show won 6million viewers.
