Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal captured the hearts of legions of viewers across the world for their portrayal of love-lorn couple Marianne Sheridan and Connell Waldron in Hulu’s adaptation of Sally Rooney’s 2018 beloved novel Normal People.
The actors had a simmering onscreen chemistry with viewers gripped by every twist and turn of their romance throughout the years.
Normal People also propelled both Edgar-Jones, 25, and Irish actor Mescal, 27, into the spotlight with their stardom rising and each going on to some big projects.
However, some fans of Normal People and indeed the two actors were hoping their chemistry would translate off-screen.
Sadly, these dreams of life imitating art have been dashed for those who ship the couple and want them to be an item away from the cameras.

Edgar-Jones has now been linked to artist Ben Seed, who goes by the name Pip.
The actress and artist were spotted looking cozy out and about together on a shopping trip in London earlier this week.
This is the first time the pair were seen out in public as they headed to the Gucci store.
Edgar-Jones and Seed were photographed getting close as he planted a kiss on the top of her head.

The Where the Crawdads Sing and War of the Worlds actress was sporting high-waisted cropped jeans with a black vest top and wore a dark blue denim jacket over this.
She paired her look with some soft black flats with sparkly buckles and accessorised with just a black shoulder bag.
Edgar-Jones let her short, blonde wavy locks hang loose as she walked around town.
Artist Seed also kept it casual with a white T-shirt, black jeans and matching shoes.

He also opted for a pair of black shades as he strolled along with the actress as the pair occasionally embraced during their outing.
“Daisy and Pip got together earlier this year and have become inseparable,” an insider told The Sun.
The source went on to say: “They have both had some free time this summer and love hanging out in Broadway Market in East London, just going to bars and spending time together.”
They added there was a “real spark” between the two and they were “excited” about “finding each other”.
Golden Globe winner Edgar-Jones is said to be on “cloud nine” after embarking on her new romance.
Ben previously dated Peaky Blinders and Netflix’s Queen’s Gambit actress Anya Taylor-Joy with the duo going their separate ways in 2021.
Meanwhile, Mescal was in a relationship with singer Phoebe Bridgers between 2020 and 2022.
