EMILY PRESCOTT: Loo roll heiress Davina Taylor says she got a lifetime ban from BA for flying to rehab while drunk

She was once part of the notoriously hard-drinking Primrose Hill set – and was the first of the gang to sober up.

But loo roll heiress Davinia Taylor has revealed she did not exactly relish going to rehab. In fact, she got so drunk while flying out to the clinic in 2009, she blacked out – earning herself a lifetime ban from British Airways.

The 46-year-old actress says she wanted to have ‘one final hurrah’ on the flight, after her late mother Lynne made her clean up her act.

Speaking to former Downing Street press chief Andy Coulson on his podcast Crisis What Crisis?, she said: ‘I got a ban from British Airways for my behaviour on the plane flying down to South Africa.’

Asked what she did, she replied: ‘I don’t know, I was in blackout. Obviously they had alcohol on the plane so I thought, right, final hurrah.

‘As anyone who has gone through addiction will understand, that is what your brain will tell you to do, just one final hurrah, this is it. It is so crazy.

‘Instead of going, ‘OK we will pull the plaster off now and sit on the plane’, oh no, no, no, I’m going to make it a little bit harder for myself.’

Ms Taylor, who used to party with the likes of Kate Moss, Sadie Frost and Jude Law, says that she turned up at the rehab centre in a ‘completely dishevelled state’, so addled that she wrote her name backwards, which she describes as ‘insane’.

During her time there she was forced to hand over custody of her baby son Grey to her estranged husband Dave Gardner, David Beckham’s best friend. The couple divorced the following year. She has not drunk alcohol since her stay, and went on to have three more sons.

Ms Taylor, a former Hollyoaks star whose father Alan made millions from the AM Paper empire, is now a wellness entrepreneur. She also said she has ADHD, which she combats with what she calls ‘biohacks’ such as sunlight and cold showers.
