Long-time Emmerdale viewers will recall a rather dramatic storyline from nearly a decade ago, which saw Bella Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) accidentally kill her former best friend Gemma Andrews (Tendai Rinomhota).
The storyline has made something of a return in earlier this year, with Belle confessing the truth of her past to her boyfriend Tom King (James Chase).
Gemma died after a fight with Belle, in which Belle pushed her over, causing Gemma to hit her head on a rock. And after being left alone after the altercation, Gemma collapsed on her way home.
She was found the next day and rushed to hospital, where her father Dom (Wil Johnson) was told that she would never recover and decided to turn off her life support.
Belle was then sentenced to three years in a detention centre for the murder, although this was later shortened.
And while things certainly took a downward turn for Gemma, the same is certainly not true for actress Tendai Rinomhotas, who has since trained in Musical Theatre and received a BA Hons degree from the Arts Educational School, London.
Before her time in Emmerdale, Tendai had appeared in a number of stage productions, most notably Annie, and it seems that after her stint on the small screen she decided to return to her stage roots.
Since leaving the long-running ITV soap in 2015, Tendai has appeared as Rizzo in a touring production Grease, and she is currently appearing in the Australian production of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.
And over the 2022 Christmas period, she appeared in the Cinderella pantomime and Theatre Royal Stratford East.
Since relocating to Australia, Tendai has shared a number of snaps of her new life on the other side of the globe, including a balcony snap in which she posed ina stunning yellow bikini, which she captioned: "Obsessed with Oz [sun emoji] [heart emoji]"
She has also shared some behind-the-scenes snaps of Tina, showing a range of make-up looks she wears throughout the show, including one in which she's impressively made to look like and old woman.
She captioned these: "Swing life is in full swing [dancing emoji] [lipstick emoji]"
Tendai has since revealed that she will be in Australia for at least the next two years, writing on her Instagram page: "Beyond blessed to be jetting off to the land of Aus in 2 weeks and making my international debut as swing in the OG cast of @tinamusicalau! Here’s to the next 2 years"
