Gordon Ramsay has opened up about the tragic death of his son Rocky, after his wife Tana had a miscarriage in June 2016.
The 56 year old chef said the tragic experience, four months before Rocky was due to be born, had been "really tough" but that it had brought his family "closer together".
In October 2021, Tana took to Instagram to post a heartbreaking message on what would have been Rocky's fifth birthday. Sharing a post from a baby loss awareness account, she said: “If all had gone as we hoped yesterday 14/10/21 would have been our little boy Rocky’s 5th birthday, the day he was due not the day he was actually born when he was too little to survive.
“Not a day goes by when we don’t think of him, but, it wasn’t meant to be. We have gone on to be blessed and will be eternally grateful, but shall always remember our angel baby with a heart bursting with love and many many tears."
Tana has since explained that Rocky was born with a "strong heartbeat" but was "too little to survive."
In an interview with People, Gordon said: "Losing Rocky was really tough, and then just being there and watching the trauma unfold, it's just this life-changing moment…
"A: I was grateful that we were there together. B: Tana always struggled with her bloods and so there was always issues with getting those bloods absolutely right. So there was this incredible celebration that she was pregnant and everything was going fine.
"And all of a sudden it just changes within 24 hours. So, I think if anything it bought the whole family together, closer, Jack's still got the little dog tag with Rocky."
Gordon went on to explain that his family's home in Cornwall is named after Rocky and that each family member wears a piece of jewellery with his name on it.
Tana and Gordon have been married for 26 years and are parents to five children – Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 23, Tilly 21 and Oscar, who's four years old.
Back in June, Holly confirmed her budding romance with Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty by sharing a series of snaps on her Instagram page labelling them "this week's camera roll", with one of her posing in a black bikini in the sunshine, which she revealed was taken by Adam.
As the influencer and model sat cross-legged in the garden with two dainty necklaces around her neck, former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Adam, 28, took to the comments.
The athlete posted a simply grey heart emoji to his new girlfriend, and a friend then commented "gowan peaty" in response, seemingly cheering him on for his news.
