A new study by Betfair Casino has revealed that Strictly Come Dancing viewers do, indeed, have a favourite Strictly professional dancer.
Gorka Márquez came out on top, beating fellow pros such as Giovanni Pernice and Dianne Buswell, who ended up in second and ninth place, at 28 and 16% respectively.
However, Giovanni had the favourite partnership among the show’s fans — Rose Ayling-Ellis, who he danced (and won) the 2021 series with. Gorka did not appear on that list.
The Spanish dancer recently scolded his partner, former Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson, in a trailer for their documentary series Life Behind the Lens, and labelled her as “dramatic”.

In the clip, the couple were seen in a car as Gorka drove.
Gemma, 38, quipped: “Oh my goodness. We need to learn this route when I’m in labour” to which Gorka responded that he would “just put on my GPS”.
A few moments later Gemma scolded the 33-year-old as he got a little bit too close to another car.
But Gorka simply brushed it off saying: “What?! Don’t be so dramatic.”
Gorka, who is partnered with radio presenter Nikita Kanda for this year’s series, revealed in Life Behind the Lens that he almost quit being a Strictly pro ahead of its 2023 return due to being away from Gemma and their newborn son.

He explained: “It’s quite heart-breaking, you know, to have to leave again a few days after Gemma gives birth and not be at home.
“In my head, it makes me think I want to quit and just be at home for the next three months, but at the same time, I need to do my job and work.”
The couple, who met during Gemma’s time as a contestant in the show back in 2017, have two children.
The pair share daughter Mia, four, who they welcomed in 2019, and baby Thiago, who Gemma gave birth to in July.
Luckily, Gorka was able to be by Gemma’s side just days before he went off to rehearse for Strictly, which returned to our screens last weekend.
