Harry Styles dropped a music video, featuring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, for “Treat People With Kindness” on Friday (January 1).
The video, directed by Ben and Gabe Turner, shows Styles transformed as a crooner and performing the song from Fine Line at a ballroom.
“I got a good feeling/ I’m just takin’ it all in/ Floating up and dreamin’/ Droppin’ into the deep end/ And if we’re here long enough/ They’ll sing a song for us/ And we’ll belong/ Maybe we can/ Find a place to feel good/ And we can treat people with kindness,” Styles sings, wearing a sequined sport coat and bowtie, and surrounded by a quartet of back-up dancers.
Towards the end of the clip, Styles is seen inviting “Fleabag” Emmy winner Waller-Bridge on stage. The two then perform a dance number, and in the process, remove their jackets, revealing matching vests and high-waited trousers.
Director Gabe Turner revealed on Twitter that they shot the video before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down most productions.
“Didn’t realize how lucky we were to experience this at the time!” Turner wrote. “Harry & Phoebe – an absolute career highlight! Fitting that it goes out today hoping that in 2021 we can return to some kind of normal.”
