Helen Flanagan admits dating is ‘difficult’ as a single mum as she wows at Pride of Britain

Helen Flanagan has opened up about her love life as a single mum – admitting she finds it 'difficult'.

Speaking exclusively to OK! on the red carpet at Sunday night's Pride Of Britain, the mum of three told us she was still adjusting to life as a single woman, following the end of her relationship with footballer Scott Sinclair.

She said: "It's quite difficult, I think. I was with Scott for 13 years. When you go from such a loving relationship, it's quite new grounds."

The Coronation Street star admitted juggling her busy life meant being very organised – but said her parents were there to help out, from doing the school run to assisting with taking her three children to stay with their dad.

She explained: "My Children's dad lives in Bath and I live in Bolton."

And she said of attending Pride of Britain Awards: "It's always such a really moving, really touching evening, so it's really lovely to be invited. I always find it really emotional, especially being a mum as well."

The star wore a shimmering black halter neck gown with a plunging neckline from online retailer Oh Polly for her night out.

She paired the look with a Chanel clutch handback, sparkling earrings and bracelet from Lara Heems Jewellery, which she showed off on her Instagram story.

In the posts, Helen, 33, showed off her backless figure-hugging outfit. The actress opted for natural foundation and blusher along with bold red lipstick, and wore her blonde tresses down with loose curls to complete the look.

In the Instagram story, she said: "So I am ready. My dress is from Oh Polly – I do really, really like it, it fits really well. For my bag, I've had this since I was 19, it's an old Chanel bag.

"My friend Lara lent me some earrings and a bracelet to put on. Rachel did my makeup and my friend Alicia did my hair."

She also shared a video to her Instagram grid showing off her complete look for the night, captioning the post: "Looking forward to Pride of Britain this evening" along with a heart emoji.

In response to her post, Helen's fans shared plenty of praise to the actress and her look for the big night. One person wrote: "Wow. Looking amazing".

Another said: "Stunning!" with a heart emoji, while a third wrote: "Beautiful just beautiful."

This comes as a number of trolls targeted Helen over her outfits shared on social media – including a snap of her school run fit which drew attention from 'haters', the Daily Star reported.

Helen shared her outfit on social media, showing off her jaw-dropping physique in a pair of baggy jeans and a pink corset top – but not everyone approved of her look.

One person commented: "Very inappropriateee for mum" whilst another added: "Do you crave attention?"

But her fans were quick to come out and praise Helen and her outfit, as well as calling out those sharing "nasty opinions". One person wrote: "Just because she’s a celebrity, doesn’t give you the right to pass on your nasty opinions. Nothing nice to say, don’t say anything! She is happy and loves her body."

Another added, "All these negative comments are clearly jealousy! Is there any need to be nasty? Just scroll on by if you don’t like something you see or better yet hit the unfollow button!"
