In lieu of the weekend of Independence Day, director Steven Soderbergh has a new crime film you probably won’t want to watch with the whole family. No Sudden Move tells the story of small-time criminals in 1955 Detroit, who have to investigate who hired them after a simple job to retrieve a document goes horribly wrong.
No Sudden Move features a large cast of well-known actors including Don Cheadle, Benicio del Toro, David Harbour, Jon Hamm, Brendan Fraser, Ray Liotta and Kieran Culkin. Matt Damon is reportedly also set to make a small cameo in the movie.
Here’s how to watch Soderbergh’s film No Sudden Move.

It’s also obviously drawing comparisons to Soderbergh’s other Detroit-focused film Out of Sight. The 1998 starred George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez. Don Cheadle also co-starred in the film. Clooney played bank robber Jack Foley, who with his friends has to escape Lopez’s U.S. Marshal Karen Sisco. Cheadle played Maurice Miller, a criminal Foley does a job with.
In recent years, Cheadle has become perhaps best known for his portrayal of James “Rhodie” Rhodes/War Machine in multiple Marvel movies, beginning with Iron Man 2. He most recently played the role in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and will once again play the character in the upcoming Disney+ show Armor Wars, where Rhodes has to stop Iron Man’s tech from falling into the wrong hands.
