Holly Willoughby has welcomed an adorable puppy to her family, and named the small pooch Bailey.
Bailey, who is thought to be a Golden Retriever, was recent welcomed into Holly’s family, and has since been introduced to her cat, Bluebell.
In a clip shared by Holly, Bluebell was stood on the stairs as Bailey calmly led on the floor below and, from the looks of Bluebell’s face, she’s still not 100 per cent sure about her new housemate.
Holly penned about the pair: “Introducing a puppy to a cat has to be a slow and gentle process. I installed a baby stair gate so that Bluebell would feel safe and have the run of the house upstairs.
"Over the course of a few weeks, she ventured down, one step a day, until this happened at the weekend. One small step for cat, one giant leap for our family…”
Several of Holly’s 7.4 millions have since shared their own experiences of introducing a dog and cat to one another.
Someone said: “We had the cats then a puppy ridgeback first time they glimpsed him they ran back up the stairs, but slowly slowly the accepted him.”
A second weighed in writing: “Wow, well done Bluebell! We’re about 6 weeks into our puppy journey and our cat Maximus is still well and truly behind the stair gate. They’re both adorable.”
