Fred tells Nigel Farage ‘you destroyed the economy’
Richard Osman has suggested Nigel Farage is “not very likeable”.
The former Brexit leader entered the I’m A Celebrity jungle with high hopes he could reach younger audiences but the BBC presenter, 53, said his plan has not worked.
Richard’s co-host Marina Hyde also chimed in and branded Nigel, 59, “boring” and added he is no different to politicians in general, who are not deemed to be the most exciting people.
Speaking on their joint podcast, The Rest Is Entertainment, the duo posed the question: “Would you give Nigel Farage £1.5m?”
Richard, who also works as a television producer, suggested the eye-watering fee was well negotiated between Nigel and show bosses but added he believes ITV regrets the decision because he is not worth the cash in terms of entertainment value.

“I’m A Celebrity by and large never do contestants much good if they’re not particularly likeable,” Richard commented. “And he’s not particularly likeable.”
“I think what he thought was, ‘I’m going to go in there and get voted for every task because I’m the bogeyman. People love to hate me.’
“And what’s happened is people have said, ‘No. I just don’t really care.'”
When Nigel was announced to be joining the I’m A Celebrity lineup some viewers complained and said they would boycott the show.
Richard admitted the politician was in for a rude awakening after not being voted to take part in the BushTucker Trials.

He commented: “He even said that in one of the earlier episodes he was not voted for a task. The genuine shock on his face – like he had just lost another by-election.
“[Nigel] said, ‘If you get voted for the task then you get 25 per cent of the air time.
“That’s his game. He wants to go in there and be the man of the people but the beautiful thing about reality TV is you can try and be whoever you want but people find you out.”
The politician was left “completely stunned” as Made In Chelsea reality star Sam Thompson was voted camp leader by the public during Monday night’s episode.
Nigel was also not voted to take part in the camp’s most recent BushTucker Trial.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight on ITV at 9pm.
