Don’t mess with the Jonas Brothers or the “J-Sisters”!
Both Joe Jonas and fiancee Sophie Turner came to the defense of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas after New York Magazine‘s The Cut published a scathing article, calling their recent nuptials a fake, publicity stunt!
The article in question painted the Quantico star out to be nothing but a social climber, hungry for fame and relevancy in Hollywood. Its headline boldly stated, “Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s Love for Real?,” even shared on Twitter with a since-deleted caption that read:
“That’s right: Nicholas Jonas married into a fraudulent relationship against his will this past Sunday, December 1, and I’ll tell you why I think so.”
They even had the audacity to share another line from the article, saying:
“All Nick wanted was a possible fling with Hollywood’s latest It Woman, but instead he wound up staring straight at a life sentence with a global scam artist.”
The “think piece” went on to dispel the notion that the newlywed couple met through DMs on social media, claiming that Chopra’s team actually arranged their romance. The writer also claims that Tom Hiddleston was a possible “candidate” for the 36-year-old to be linked to. WOW.
The Game of Thrones starlet blasted The Cut on Twitter, disgusted by their bold decision to run the since-removed article in the first place, saying:
Joe echoed the sentiments at the sam exact moment, writing:
Fans were quick to flood Turner’s mentions, backing her up while simultaneously calling out The Cut for sounding super bitter about the special union. And we have to agree with her too, because Nick and Priyanka’s wedding was nothing short of magical! It was a beautiful celebration of love and blending of cultures that seemed 100% authentic to us.
It looks like the site’s editors eventually came to their senses, based on the short but direct apology posted to their site that reads:
“Upon further editorial review, we found this story did not meet our standards. We’ve removed it and apologize.”
Thoughts, Perezcious readers?
