JoJo Siwa Calls Out Candace Cameron Bure for Her "Traditional Marriage" Comments

Candace Cameron Bure is serving as the chief creative officer of the Great American Family (GAF) network, and just made an unsavory comment to the Wall Street Journal about the network keeping “traditional marriage” at its core.

The comment was made in response to Candace being asked if GAF will “feature same-sex couples as leads in holiday movies.” In response, she said, “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.” Meanwhile, GAF’s chief executive Bill Abbott said, “It’s certainly the year 2022, so we’re aware of the trends. There’s no whiteboard that says, ‘Yes, this’ or ‘No, we’ll never go here.'”

Candace was swiftly called out for her remarks—including by JoJo Siwa (who she feuded with earlier this year): “Honestly, I can’t believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with intention of excluding LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press,” JoJo said in a statement on Instagram. “This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people.”

Candace’s Full House costar Jodie Sweetin supported JoJo in the comments, writing, “You know I love you.” Meanwhile, actor Hilarie Burton Morgan also called out Candace, tweeting, “Bigot. I don’t remember Jesus liking hypocrites like Candy. But sure. Make your money, honey. You ride that prejudice wave all the way to the bank.”
