Dame Judi Dench, 84, who will be making a cameo appearance in the new James Bond film, hasn’t slowed down in recent years and already has six films under her belt this year.
The actress admitted she enjoys keeping busy and doesn’t wan’t to slow down as she’s “frightened” no one will want to cast her again.
In an interview with Radio Times, Michael Buerk asked the British legend why she feels the need to keep saying yes to parts.
She divulged: “Because I’m so frightened nobody will ask me again. It’s a real fear.”
Dame Judi continued: “Every time I think: I’d better not turn this down, I may never get another.”
The A-Lister said she refuses to even think about the word retire and it is banned in her family.
“People retire to paint or walk – do the things they’ve wanted to do all their lives,” she said.
Dame Judi explained she’s still doing what she’s wanted to do her whole life and has no plans to slow down.
The seven-time Oscar nominee also revealed she doesn’t watch any of the films she’s in as she believes she’s younger than she is.
“You see, in my mind I’m still a tall, willowy, 39-year-old blonde,” she spilled.
“I don’t want to see the reality. I’ve a touch of the Queen Elizabeth the firsts, really. She banned mirrors in her old age.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Dame Judi admitted she can no longer read the newspaper or drive due to a gradual loss of vision.
She said she has had eight injections in one eye to slow the rate of deterioration, but nothing has worked.
The star, who was born in Yorkshire explained there’s only one thing about the age-related macular degeneration which bothers her the most – she had to give up driving.
She said: “It was absolutely appalling. But I just know I’ll kill somebody if I get behind the wheel of a car now.”
Meanwhile, Dame Judi will make a surprise cameo in Daniel Craig’s last outing as James Bond.

The star became the first female M in 1995’s Goldeneye but in the 50th anniversary movie, Skyfall, M died in the arms of James Bond.
In Spectre three years later, Dame Judi briefly reprised her role as M, leaving a video message shown before she had died.
And now, the actress is making another return, in the form of a picture.
During Princes Charles’ visit at the Pinewood Studios set of Bond 25 last week, the Duke of Cornwall had a look around the set with Miss Moneypenny actress, Naomie Harris.
In the snaps of them, a huge portrait of Judi Dench as M was seen in the background.
Judi Dench’s interview is in this week’s issue of Radio Times, out now.
