Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is known for never putting a foot wrong when it comes to her fashion choices, and of late, Kate has been rocking a number of stylish suits.
The 41 year old future Queen of England, the wife of Prince William, has been spotted on a number of official royal duties recently wearing the fashion-forward two-pieces, and OK!'s fashion editor Lauren Goodwin-Grafton believes that these outfits are a 'symbol of power' as Kate prepares to one day become Queen.
Lauren said: "As a new era of her senior career begins in the Royal family, we’ve seen The Princess of Wales switch up her previously ‘laid back’ style to a more ‘business’ like approach.
"Her sophisticated, well-fitting suits have fast become a talking point amongst the fashion pack, but what’s the reason behind the subtle style shift? Just like her late mother in-law Princess Diana, Kate is letting her style choices do the talking."
Lauren continued: "Suits usually mean business, and now so does Kate.
"Here we see the mother of three rebranding herself from ‘the girl next door’ into a position of power: our future Queen.
"We’ve grown to love Kate for her traditional approach to Royal dressing, from her floaty skirts, elegant midi dresses and Jackie O-esque dress coats – but this transition sees a more refined approach."
Lauren went on: "Last week she [Kate] flew the flag for British fashion brand Burberry by donning a gorgeous forest green suit, proving once more she is a champion for homegrown fashion. Now, she’s stepping out in sartorial pin stripes (a symbol of power). In her new suited era Kate eludes confidence and reinstates our future Queen is ready to take on her role with grace, elegance and true regal style."
On a recent royal engagement, Kate stunned in an emerald green trouser suit as she visited a textile mill in Leeds on Tuesday, September 26 – which was once owned by her family.
Kate was all smiles as she arrived to AW Hainsworth, a family-owned heritage textile mill which was established in 1773 and manufactures British woollen cloth, high-performing technical textiles, and iconic fabrics.
The mill was previously owned by William Lupton & Co, which was founded by Kate's ancestors in the 17th century, before it was sold to AW Hainsworth in 1958.
Kate looked absolutely beautiful in the Burberry suit, which featured flared trousers that matched perfectly with her suede heels which featured a chunky heel.
She is known to recycle her clothing, and has previously been seen wearing the green suit earlier this year in March as she welcomed Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway to the UK.
