Russell Brand denies 'serious allegations' of Dispatches investigation
Katy Perry has made a big move regarding her music catalog, just days after news about her ex-husband, Russell Brand, broke and saw their brief marriage once again examined.
Perry, 38, has sold the rights to all five of her studio albums to Litmus Music for $225 million (£180.5million).
This means the company now owns stakes to her masters and the publishing rights to all five, which include hit songs like I Kissed A Girl, California Girls and Teenage Dream.
Universal Group will still own the singer’s masters, according to Billboard.
She first broke onto the scene in 2004 and has since become one of the biggest pop stars in the world.
In addition to her chart-topping hits, Perry also made headlines earlier in her career because of her relationship and eventual marriage to the English comedian and actor.

The former couple met and began dating in 2009, and married in October 2010 in a lavish wedding. However, by December 2011, Brand had filed for divorce–allegedly telling the singer they were through via a text message.
In a 2013 interview with Vogue, Perry hinted at deeper issues in their marriage, sharing that he was controlling and also indicating there were some deeply buried skeletons she wasn’t going to reveal.
“At first when I met him he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they’re like, ‘I can’t handle the equalness,'” she said at the time. “He didn’t like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour. So that was really hurtful, and it was very controlling, which was upsetting.”
“I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day,” she added.
“I let go and I was like: This isn’t because of me; this is beyond me. So I have moved on from that.”

Perry moved on from the marriage with Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a daughter Daisy. The two have been engaged since 2019.
Brand married his wife, Laura, in 2017, and they had two children together and are expecting a third.
Perry’s comments about the “real truth” have now resurfaced after four women came forward and accused Brand, 48, of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse in incidents which occurred between 2006 and 2013.
Among the complaints was one from a woman who said they had a consensual relationship when he was 31 and she was 16–though she alleged he also assaulted her in the end and was “grooming” her.
“I was sat up in the bed up against the headboard, and he forced his penis down my throat and I couldn’t breathe,” the woman, who was identified as Alice (not her real name) in the investigative report stated.
“He was just choking me, and I couldn’t breathe, I was pushing him away and pushing him away and he wasn’t backing off at all. And so I ended up having to punch him really hard in the stomach to get him off,” she added.
“And then he like fell backwards and I was crying and he said ‘oh I only want to see your mascara run anyway’.”
Brand has denied all the allegations against him, insisting he has done nothing wrong.
