Joanne Clifton, 36, appeared on Strictly Come Dancing until 2016 when she left the show on a high after winning the Glitterball trophy with Ore Oduba. As casting for the new season begins, Joanne revealed that she would not rule out a return to the programme.
I would never say never
She explained: “I would never say never because it’s such a nice show to work on.
“My three years I was on it, I loved the pro dancers, the cameramen, the people behind the scenes, the production, even the makeup and hair people.”
Joanne has worked a hectic schedule, appearing in musicals such as Rocky Horror Show, since she moved on from Strictly.
However, she describes Strictly as her “happy place” and where she feels most at home.

She continued: “It’s such a nice happy place to be, when I was on it there were no egos. We all knew the main goal was to put on a heck of a good show, for the 12 million who were watching. It was everyone’s main goal.”
For now, Joanne is not ruling out a return to the show, but she is enjoying exploring different professional avenues.
“Never say never, but I am very happy on stage, it’s been a passion of mine since I was a little kid, and now I’m living it out. I just feel at home on stage”, she added.
This season of Strictly is likely to be different due to imposed social distancing measures.
Joanne has said she is “certain” that the BBC will take no risks in creating this year’s programme.
She revealed: “The BBC are so on it, they’re not going to take any risks, that’s for sure.
“I saw an article that they are going to make it shorter or something; they will definitely take all the precautions.
“If I were still on it they would probably only have me seeing the person I am paired with. The cameramen would be kept metres apart.

“There will be less people in the training room, they may have them in quarantine for two weeks before starting the show,” Joanne added.
So far there have been no announcements about which celebrities will take part in Strictly this year.
However, the show could be a judge short, as Bruno Tonioli currently remains in the US, where there are flight restrictions in place.
For the last 15 years, Bruno has spent his time between the UK and the US where he has worked on Dancing With The Stars.

Bruno’s fellow panellists include Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood.
It has been rumoured that Cheryl could step in to replace Bruno if he is unable to film this year’s series.
A source revealed to The Sun: “As things stand, Bruno won’t be replaced and they’ll switch to three judges.
“The BBC hope the rules on flying will be relaxed by the autumn, which means Bruno should be able to take part.”
