Laura Hamilton sparks frenzy as she addresses A Place In The Sun announcement

A Place In The Sun’s Laura Hamilton has divulged the details regarding her next presenting gig.

Taking to Instagram, the mum-of-two announced that she would be fronting a new spin-off version of the beloved Channel 4 show, titled: A Place in The Sun What Happened Next?

She broke the news to her 189,000 followers by posting a stunning picture of herself sitting on the edge of a marina.

In the image, Laura, 41, was wearing a tropical print off-the-shoulder top and a pair of cut-off denim jean shorts.

Discussing the new TV show in the caption, she said: “Many of you who follow me know that I have been part of the wonderful family that is @aplaceinthesunofficial for the last 12 years.

“It’s been the most amazing job for me, I love travel, I love property and I love people – especially when you can help make their dreams come true. Today I am excited to announce that…

“After several years of being asked ‘What Happened Next’, you are about to all find out.”

She continued to say that during 2023, she has been catching up with property hunters who have previously appeared on the show to find out what they’re up to now.

Laura added: “There are 40 episodes coming your way and I’m so excited for you to see them…”

Since posting the announcement to social media on Wednesday (November 15), fans have come out to express their excitement in the comments section.

One Instagram user wrote: “Amazing! Look forward to seeing this. Wayne and I have said many times wouldn’t it be good if they come back and see us as we have lots planned for our house. Great idea.”

A second said: “Fabulous I always say this will be so glad to see it.”

“Hope they will be broadcasted in Sweden soon too. You’re doing a great job. Loving it,” commented another.

A fourth user admitted: “I thought you were about (sic) to announce that you’re the new presenter of this morning after Holly.”

Channel 4 says that the forthcoming show will see families and couples being revisited by the likes of Laura, Jasmine Harman, Craig Rowe and Bell Hillman.

Excitingly, it has been revealed that one of the series’ original presenters, Amanda Lamb, will also be returning for A Place in The Sun What Happened Next?.

The latter will reportedly be reunited with Mike and Fiona from Derbyshire, whom she met in 2007 when they were after a property in the Lorraine region of France.

Speaking about the upcoming programme, Channel 4’s Senior Executive Producer, Michelle Heeley said: “It’s been wonderful to re-visit these house-hunters who are thriving in their new homes in the sun.

“We are immensely proud to have helped change so many people’s lives. It’s a testament to all the hard work our production team and presenters have put in over the past 23 years. I can’t wait for viewers to see what happens next.”

Head of Daytime & Features, Jo Street added: “A Place in the Sun is such a beloved show, and we know the audience really cares what happens to the house-hunters once the cameras leave.

“What a treat to catch up with homeowners and see what happened when that offer was finally accepted!”

20 episodes have been filmed in 2023, and another 20 have been commissioned for 2024.

New episodes of A Place In The Sun air every weekday at 4pm on Channel 4.
