Lorraine: Harry should wear ‘budgie smugglers’ to ceremony
Lorraine Kelly, 63, has addressed why her speech was a little off during her ITV show this morning.
After the programme ended, an eagle-eyed viewer took to Twitter to question if the host was dealing with mouth ulcers.
They wrote: “@reallorraine is Lorraine putting on suffering from some sort of mouth ulcer in her mouth to speak so ridiculously?”
In response, the presenter said: “Yep – I’ve got a couple of crackers sadly – always happens when I overdo things and don’t get enough sleep.”
According to the NHS, mouth ulcers can be caused for a number of reasons including hormonal changes, feeling tired, stressed or anxious, a food intolerance and badly fitted dentures.

Most ulcers are harmless, however if recurring or long-lasting, it’s advised to get checked by a doctor.
Lorraine’s speech issues were picked up on during her latest show in which she caught up with Mastermind host Clive Myrie, Hamza Yassin and doctors Hilary and Amir Khan.
The host also joined showbiz correspondent Ross King via video call, who shared the latest details about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s appearance at the Invictus Games in Germany.
During the event, the royal was presented with a pair of budgie smugglers by Australian swimmers, which made his wife chuckle.

Reacting to the moment, Lorraine cheekily called for him to wear them.
Ross joked: “What can be more Australian than maybe a cuddly Koala or TimTams? But what is more Australian than budgie smugglers?”
The pair also went on to discuss a picture of Harry holding up his pants which appeared on screen.
Ross added: “Look at that! They were covered in flags of the world, some flags bigger than others – size does matter!”
Lorraine then suggested: “He has to wear those for the closing ceremony! He must! He has to! It would be good fun.”
Ross concluded the segment by mentioning that the couple would be returning to the States after the weekend.
The couple have been living in LA since stepping down from their senior royal duties in 2020.
They are parents to son Archie, four, and daughter Lilibet, two.
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
