One of the most popular and anticipated moments of a Love & Hip Hop season is the reunion special. One actress, who just landed a co-hosting role on a talk show, has revealed that she was offered a deal to host one of the reunion specials recently and turned it down.
Amanda Seales is a new host on ‘The Real’
Seales, who currently stars on HBO’s Insecure joined The Real as a full-time co-host. This comes after she guest co-hosted the show for several episodes.
“Amanda is an excellent addition to our award-winning team at The Real,” said Donna Redier Linsk, Executive Vice President & General Manager, Telepictures at the time. “Her unique voice at the table will add new dimensions to the conversation, and with the continued support of our partners at Fox, will guarantee a bright future for years to come.”
Seales added, “I’m looking forward to joining these four fabulous women in exciting and intellectual conversations that keep our audience laughing, learning, and living their best lives!”
She joined current co-hosts Loni Love, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Adrienne Bailon-Houghton and Jeannie Mai.
Seales says she turned down hosting a ‘Love & Hip Hop’ reunion special
The actress and host brought up Love & Hip Hop in a segment discussing the difference between “pride” and “self-worth.”
Seales said, “I’ve definitely not done a job, not because of pride. I was broke as a joke at one point, and they had asked me to host the Love & Hip Hop reunion. I just don’t support the behaviors that are promoted on that show. I just couldn’t do it. And when I tell y’all I was broke…I was broke.”
She continued, “I really couldn’t do it. It wasn’t about pride. It was about my integrity and self-worth.”
Seales did not state which series in particular of the franchise she was asked to host. Nina Parker has hosted most of the Love & Hip Hop reunion shows.
New seasons of Love & Hip Hop: New York and Love & Hip Hop: Miami are currently airing now.
