Luca Bish has spoke out about meeting Gemma Owen's dad in a new interview, revealing that he thinks he's managed to win him over after recently meeting for the first time.
The Love Island star, 23, came in second place on the hit ITV2 dating show alongside international dressage rider Gemma, 19, who is the daughter of former professional footballer Michael Owen.
After recently meeting Michael, 42, in person, it seems that Luca is confident he's won the dad-of-four over and gained his seal of approval.
"I think so! He's actually followed me back on Instagram, that must mean I'm in, right?' he joked during a new interview with Grazia when asked if he's won Michael over.
The fishmonger, who hails from Brighton, went on to open up about fans speculating that he was only ever interested in Gemma because of her famous dad.
Luca claimed he "couldn't care less" about Michael's celebrity status, and added: "Listen, I've been to their house and seen all his trophies – they date back to before I was born.
"Besides have you seen that girl? I couldn't of care less about all that."
It was Gemma that Luca had his eye on from the start it seems, despite the public pairing him with Paige Thorne, 24, and Gemma with Liam Llewellyn, 22.

"I actually wanted to pull Gemma from the start but they [producers] kept holding me back so I could focus on the connections I had at the time," he said, referring to Paige and Tasha Ghouri, 23.
Fans had been eagerly waiting for Luca to come face-to-face with Michael ever since he and Gemma struck up a romance in the villa, and the duo finally met in person during a recent family getaway to Portugal.
Gemma, who has signed a deal with fast fashion brand PrettyLittleThing since leaving the villa, recently said the meeting "couldn't have gone better" and gushed over her soon-to-be-boyfriend during an interview on Capital Radio.
Flashing a big smile, the 19 year old reality TV star said: “Yeah it couldn’t have gone better, it was so nice!
“We got away for four days, it was a bit of like, got a bit of content, bit of chill time but yeah it was a really nice environment for him to meet everyone. They all get on really well and how he was with my brothers and sisters as well, like, so cute!”
Luca was reportedly nervous about meeting Michael, especially as Gemma shares an extremely close bond with him.
An insider revealed to The Sun: "Luca has been nervous about meeting Michael which is, of course, totally natural. He adores Gemma and knows that he has to impress.
"They flew out from Gatwick to spend time with him and Gemma’s mum at their private villa in Quinta Do Lago. Luca is a nice lad and Gemma has no doubt he will win him over but of course it is nerve wracking.”
