Malin Andersson ‘terrified’ as emergency C-section took place in room Consy was born in

Former Love Island star Malin Andersson has opened up about the sheer fear she experienced after being told that she would have to give birth to her daughter Xaya via emergency C-section earlier this year.

The 29 year old exclusively told us that this was the same way she gave birth to her late daughter Consy before she tragically passed away three years ago, causing her to worry she'd soon be reliving her worst nightmare.

In 2019, Malin was forced to kiss her four week old girl goodbye after she died following medical complications, having been born seven weeks early.

In late January this year however, after struggling to dilate more than 5cm, Malin had to undergo an emergency C-section again.

Recalling her concerns that day, Malin disclosed: "They gave Jared and me a letter that we had to sign regarding what would happen if I died during labour, which caused me to start panicking and hyperventilating.

"I was in the exact same hospital – in the exact same room – that I’d given birth to Consy in. I lay there, terrified, on the operating table being completely triggered by traumatic memories.

"Jared was worried too as my heart rate kept dropping, but he put his head next to mine and comforted me."

Despite a traumatic start to her labour, some time later and much to her relief, Malin and her ex-partner Jared, whom she recently split from, welcomed a happy and healthy baby girl into the world.

"The next minute, they pulled her from me and she immediately started crying," she tells us. "It was the biggest relief because with Consy’s birth, she didn’t make a sound.

"Holding her in my arms for the first time was magical – the most beautiful feeling ever."

On an adorable black and white snap she posted on social media in the weeks after giving birth to Xaya, new-mum Malin wrote: "I ended up having an emergency C-section with her, they took her out of the same scar Consy came from.. that was a bittersweet experience for me which I needed to take in after.

"I can’t even describe the amount of love she has given us, and how it feels to be a mum again – but to a healthy baby. I look at her and I have to pinch myself."
