Martine McCutcheon admits to a "tough couple of weeks" as she shares rare family snaps during fun packed day out.
The Love Actually and EastEnders star, 47, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a heartfelt message as she shared a series of photos with her mother-in-law and her rarely seen son.
The mum-of-one could be seen beaming alongside her loved ones as they ventured around a crazy golf course and enjoyed the September sunshine.
In the caption, she wrote: "Simple pleasures! Tough couple of weeks for various reasons but I never forget that the simple things are the best and I never take them for granted! Gorgeous day playing Crazy Golf with my mother in law and the little monkey who’s been taking selfies on my phone! Thanks for your help Mal!"
Martine – who was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) in 2011 – donned a white summer dress, a pair of brown flat strappy sandals, a circle wicker bag and statement brown sunglasses.
Her son Rafferty, who she often keeps out of the spotlight, sported a Legoland burgundy cap, navy blue shorts and a white Under Armour polo shirt, while his grandmother donned a black and white relaxed top and trousers.
In recent months, the talented star has become a huge campaigner for raising awareness for CFS, a long-term neurological condition that affects the nervous and immune systems.
She has continued to open up about her health condition and has encouraged people to familiarise themselves with the symptoms while sharing she surrounds herself only with those who understand how the condition can affect her.
In a previous vulnerable post, she penned: "I only surround myself with people who understand that if I need to cancel something (& that can happen often) it's not a choice I want to make.
"I wanted to share this as people only see snippets on insta and life isn't all fun and games… But I'm not going to wait till things are perfect to live and love my life. Grab what you can!"
Martine has said that she was unable to holiday for her husband’s birthday last year due to the symptoms being so debilitating that she was "barely able to stand."
In another post, she wrote that while on holiday to Mallorca she had a flair up and wrote on Instagram: "Mallorca life. Love it. Had a big flare up of my CFS lately and the travel was tough but waking up in the sunshine, feeling the hot heat soothe your aches and pains along with a warm gentle warm breeze is just heaven! Are you guys going anywhere this summer? Sending you all lots of love!"
