Maura Higgins explains exactly how she deals with trolls after Love Island

Love Island's Maura Higgins has revealed her secret to dealing with vicious internet trolls .

Many of the show's stars have been targeted by hate on social media after finding fame in the villa.

A number of the former contestants have also suffered mental health issues – with two tragically taking their own lives.

Now Maura has opened up about her battles with the keyboard warriors and outlines what she does to bat away the problem.

The 28-year-old refuses to let online abuse change how she behaves and she has found a good way to block it all out.

She told the Daily Star Sunday: “I don’t read what people say about me. I didn’t do that before I went on Love Island, so I’m not going to start now.

"I tend not to go into my message requests on social media. The messages I see are from friends and family.

“So the reaction I’ve been getting online has been very good. Everyone is very supportive.”

She added: “Since I left the villa everything has been great. I don’t feel any pressure. I’m loving it.”

Love Island fans have gone wild after a Dancing On Ice teaser photo appears to show Maura Higgins in the line-up.
