Max George attends Pride of Britain solo as Maisie Smith opts to skip awards

The Wanted 's Max George attended the Pride of Britain Awards alone as his girlfriend, ex- Eastenders actress Maisie Smith opted to skip them.

Max, 36, brought his A-game to the awards in a black crushed velvet suit and open black shirt, whilst he edged up the look with a pair of chunky Doc Marten boots.

It is unknown why Maisie, 21, didn't attend the awards, but it is unusual for the smitten couple to be seen apart as their romance has been full steam ahead since they started dating in the summer.

OK! has contacted Maisie's representatives for comment.

Despite Maisie's no-show, Max made sure Maisie still knew he was thinking of her as he posted a makeup free snap of her to his Instagram stories and wrote "wow".

The pair started dating earlier this year, but they actually met two years ago when they were both starring on Strictly Come Dancing.

Max was previously dating Stacey Giggs, the ex-wife of footballer Ryan Giggs, however they broke up not long before he started his relationship with Maisie.

Since going public with their love in September, Max and Maisie have let the world know about their intense feelings for each other, often posting loved-up snaps and love declarations to Instagram.

Maisie has even said that Max "knows me entirely" as she confessed that she is in love with him.

Max recently posted an eye-popping video to Instagram as the clearly-naked couple cuddled in bed under the duvet.

The singer could be seen pulling a face as a smitten Maisie wrapped her arms around him and kissed his face as he wrote jokingly: "Relaxing."

Max has been supporting Maisie as he's joined her around the country whilst she takes part in the Strictly Tour, however, they have reportedly caused tension with Maisie's castmates, who have been left "bemused" at their lack of participation in social events.

A source told The Sun that the pair "wanted to spend all their time together," and the Celebrity SAS star went directly to him every night after each performance.

“Everyone gets on but they are slightly bemused by her absence because there has been lots of socialising, which she just hasn’t been part of," the insider explained. “She even missed a lunch for Kevin [Clifton]’s birthday last week – opting to be with Max instead.”

The source added that Maisie "doesn't follow the other dancers on Instagram" but as there's still a few more months of the tour, "everyone is hoping she warms up to them all soon".

Max and Maisie enjoyed two holidays during the summer, as they visited Crete and Mallorca, and the new flames were allegedly spotted kissing onboard a flight to Crete.
