The Prince and Princess of Wales have an incredibly close knit circle of friends who have been in their lives ever since their school days and time at university.
Many of the most trusted members of their group have been honoured by the couple when they were asked to become a godparent to either Prince George, Princess Charlotte or Prince Louis.
One person who makes this list is Emilia Jardine-Paterson. She has previously been credited as the Princess of Wales' best friend and it is widely believed that she is the person who introduced her to Prince William as the pair had known each other since they were very young.
Emilia and Kate were in the same classes at the £39,930 a year Marlborough College in Wiltshire and have hardly been out of one another's lives since. In 2013, she was asked to become one of Prince George's godmothers.
Born Emilia d’Erlanger, she met Kate when they were both students and has stayed a close friend of the future Queen for more than 20 years.
Emilia married her husband David who was a close friend of Prince William when the pair were at Eton. David is a descendant of wealthy Scottish landowners, as well as the Jardines banking family. The couple share three children, Alexander, Leo and Lucia.
The two couples have been pictured together on many occasions, including a time where they were seen walking towards the Church of St Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham estate to attend Christmas mass.
An interior designer by trade, Emilia owns the company d’Erlanger and Sloan and is thought to be partly responsible for the redecoration of Kensington Palace and Anmer Hall.
There were reports that she provided the Princess with design tips for fabrics, trimmings and furniture for her two homes.
In January 2013, the Prince and Princess of Wales were allocated Anmer Hall by the late Queen as a wedding gift.
Large renovations were carried out including a new roof, a conservatory, new kitchen and a substantial tree-planting scheme to offer the family of five more privacy. The refurbishments totalled £1.5 million and were paid for using private Royal Family funds.
The family lived in Norfolk full time between 2015 and 2017 as Prince George was attending nursery nearby at the Westacre Montessori School.
The Wales family's main home is now Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate in Berkshire which was previously where Princess Margaret's fiancée Group Captain Peter Townsend lived before they called off their engagement.
