Acclaimed actress Michelle Pfeiffer, known for her role in Ant-Man, recently shared a cautionary tale with her fans about the risks of playing pickleball.
The 65-year-old star took to Instagram on Friday to post a series of photos showcasing a significant black eye she sustained while playing the increasingly popular sport.
In her Instagram post, Pfeiffer humorously warned her followers to “Stay out of the Kitchen” – a phrase often used in pickleball.
Accompanying the warning were pictures revealing the extent of her injury, covering nearly her entire right eyelid, and a snapshot of her icing the bruise, still in her workout attire and sun visor.
The Hollywood actress reassured her fans in the comments section that the injury was “nothing serious” and philosophically added, “Life is sweetened with risk!”
Her sister, Dedee Pfeiffer, commended Michelle’s resilience, noting that she continued playing despite the injury.
Fellow actress Selma Blair and other fans expressed their well-wishes and light-hearted comments on her post.
One fan jokingly advised against literal interpretations of “an eye for an eye,” while another suggested she might consider an eye patch.
