Oti Mabuse in pregnancy update as she shares struggle ‘to get out of bed’

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse has opened up about finding it “hard” to get out of bed some days in a new pregnancy update.

Oti, 33, announced she is expecting her first baby with husband Marcus Iepure, 40, in August and while the exact due date has not been confirmed by the couple, fans know it will fall before Christmas.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday morning, Oti revealed to her 678,000 followers that she is feeling “uber-confident” – but at times, struggles to get out of bed or walk.

Alongside four snaps of herself glowing in a white dress, she penned: “I’m not going to lie… I’m feeling my mama season right now.”

She continued: “I always assumed when I got pregnant I’d feel down, heavy, slow, pigmentation everywhere, bloated feet and bloated nose, but what I’ve actually found is that for the first time in my life, I feel so uber-confident.

“Really happy and grateful to be able to live a healthy happy life, to work and my hormones are happy ones with not long to go.

“Yes, at times, it’s hard to get out of bed or walk or stand up fast but the rest of it… is hella sexy and totally worth it.”

Her update comes after the mum-to-be admitted she had previously spent days “crying in the shower” in an emotional interview last month.

Praising her husband Marius Iepure, she said that he helped her to get through the “dark days” during her seven years on Strictly.

“Luckily, my husband is an amazing person who’s seen the dark days,” she said. “The days where I’m in the shower crying with my clothes on because it’s so hard and so overwhelming.”

Since leaving Strictly, Oti has followed in sister Motsi’s footsteps and taken up a judging role.

She is part of the panel on Dancing on Ice alongside Ashley Banjo and ice skating superstars Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

News of her Strictly departure was announced last year and came as a surprise to many.

“I was met with a lot of, ‘Why would you leave? You’re happy, you are at the top of your professional game, your personal game. You won the show. Why would you leave?'” she said.

“And I was like, ‘Because of that’. That is the wrong question to ask, ‘Why would you leave?’ The right one is, ‘What’s next?'”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6:30pm.
