Owen Warner leaves I’m A Celeb fans confused as he asks who Mike Tindall’s royal wife is

Owen Warner leftI’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans baffled as he askedMike Tindall if his wife Zara was Australian.

The Hollyoaks actor appeared to have no idea that former rugby star Mike is married to the niece ofKing Charles.

During a chat in the Aussie camp, which aired during Monday night's episode of the hit ITV show,, comedian Babatúndé Aléshé asked Mike where he met Zara Philips, who is granddaughter of the lateQueen Elizabeth II and daughter ofAnne, Princess Royal – the King’s sister.

When Mike answered "in Sydney in 2003," Owen, 24, then asked: "Is she Australian?"

Mike, 44, simply replied: “No.”

He went on to explain that he was in Sydney to play for England in the 2003 Rugby World Cu, which Zara, now 41, had travelled there to watch.

I’m A Celebrity fans were left reeling from Owen’s question and took to Twitter to share their amusement and disbelief.

One posted: “Did Owen just ask Mike Tindall if his wife's Australian?! Cannot cope with this lad.”

Another said: “I can’t believe Owen Warner asked Boy George his name and has now asked Mike Tindall if his wife is Australian. It’s gonna be a long three weeks.”

Meanwhile, someone else wrote: “Dying at the fact that Owen doesn’t know who anyone is “Is she Australian”. She as in the Queen’s granddaughter.”

Another Twitter user posted: “I love how Owen is (probably unintentionally) humbling all the celebs. First off he asks Boy George who he is and now he asked Mike Tindall if his wife is Australian.”

Mike went on to detail how he and Zara hit it off after meeting Down Under.

He said: "I got dropped from the semi-final. I was p****d off and so I went for a beer with another guy who got dropped and a guy who was over [in Sydney].

"They’d met her before and they introduced us and then got chatting.”

Owen asked Mike: “So if you never got dropped you never would have met her?”

Mike replied by saying it was the best decision that then-England rugby coach Clive Woodward had ever made.

He went on to describe his first date with Zara, which was a local lunch that soon turned boozy.

Mike added: “It ended up being quite a boozy one. And we figured out we both like getting smashed, so…It was a good start.

Babatúndé, recalling the conversation in the Bush Telegraph later, shared his disbelief at Owen’s apparent lack of knowledge.

He said: “Mike is part of the royal family. He is married to the daughter of our King’s sister. I mean, come on bro.”
