Phillip Schofields wife still loves him as pair set to reunite for big day

Although Phillip Schofield and estranged partner Steph no longer live together as husband and wife, they reportedly “still love” each other, and are expected to reunite for Christmas.

According to a source, the pair – who share daughters Molly, 30, and Ruby, 27 – will be putting on a united front for the festive season.

The source claimed to New magazine: “Even if the love they shared in the beginning of their marriage is different to what it is now, the love is still very much there.”

They continued: “She’s stuck by him through everything, while others deserted him.

“Steph is, and always will be, Phillip’s support system [and] she hasn’t divorced him because she doesn’t want to see him fall any further.

“It’s telling that they will spend Christmas together again as a family. He is the father of her daughters, after all, and the girls love him dearly.”

Express.co.uk has contacted representatives for Phillip for comment.

The 61-year-old shared his girls have been his “rock” after his 21-year long stint presenting This Morning came to an end.

After admitting to his “ill-advised but not illegal” affair with a younger male colleague, and being dropped by his talent agency, he recalled that he felt “utterly broken”.

He told The Sun in June: “If it hadn’t been for my girls last week I wouldn’t be here… I feel embarrassed and ashamed.”

Phil and Steph’s eldest daughter Molly works as a talent management employee at the agency that dropped him, YMU, but she has shown her full support for her dad, and it’s believed that Steph and Ruby have offered kind words too.

Phillip has remained close to Steph and she supported the star when he announced in 2020 that he’d come to realise he was gay.

In fact, the pair even made a public outing together back in April this year while attending Leigh Francis’s 50th birthday bash – but Phillip admitted that Steph was “very angry” when she later learnt that he’d had an affair while still married to her.

He told the aforementioned publication: “‘She is very, very angry but we spoke today, and my daughters were unbelievable.

“They are, without question, our greatest asset… from a father’s point of view, my greatest assets are my girls.”

Meanwhile, in a statement given to Mail Online at the time, Phillip expressed his remorse for keeping his wife in the dark about his affair, revealing that he was “deeply sorry”.

He continued: “I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family.

“I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife,” he added, before confirming that he would be stepping down from ITV “with immediate effect”.
