Priscilla Presley breaks down during emotional TalkTV interview
Priscilla Presley is opening up about the rarely-seen details of Elvis Presley’s life behind the closed doors of Graceland as the new biopic, Priscilla, hits screens in the US.
While The King’s life has been heavily documented and publicised, fans have rarely seen his love life through the eyes of his former wife whom he first met when he was 24 years old and serving in the army in Germany.
Their chance encounter came through a mutual friend who invited the 14-year-old schoolgirl to a party at Elvis’ home, where he reportedly fell head-over-heels for her and they started dating, much to her parents’ concern although he eventually won them over too.
As their controversial age-gap relationship plays out on the big screen, the now 78-year-old has hit back at claims that the Jailhouse Rock singer groomed her.
On a recent episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, Priscilla explained that she didn’t view it as grooming, but admitted that at the time she had “never heard the word” before.
She emphasised: “I was 14 in Germany, and there was always people around, and our talks were yes, private, but he never ever, ever, ever was aggressive, nor did he ever make love to me.”
Instead, Priscilla revealed their true romance blossomed over his relentless trust in her as he poured his heart out to her in private while also dressing up with her to go on movie dates every night.
When the movie, starring Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi, first premiered earlier this year at the Venice Film Festival, Priscilla opened up on the more intimate side of their relationship while she was underage.
The Hollywood star claimed she was far more mature than her years but Elvis still “respected the fact that I was only 14 years old” and he “did not take advantage” of her youth.

After dating for a few months, Elvis returned to the States while Priscilla stayed with her parents in Germany, leaving the couple in a difficult long-distance relationship for two years before she was allowed to visit him in America for the first time.
The following year she joined Elvis in Graceland permanently, finishing her schooling at a local Catholic school by request of her parents and four years later she tied the knot with arguably the most famous musician of the era.
Priscilla is set to release in the UK on January 1, 2024.
