The One Show: Romesh Ranganathan on the Royal Variety Show
Romesh Ranganathan confessed to losing a staggering amount of weight as he dons a slimmer frame. Speaking on the ITV Jonathan Ross Show, the comedian, 45, revealed he has shredded around three stone.
Revealing how he managed to get into shape, the actor put it to “diet and exercise”. He further quipped: “I have lost a lot of weight, but obviously it doesn’t matter. We’re in an age of body positivity and rightly so”.
During the chat with host Jonathan, 63, he said he feels he should not be “celebrated” because he has lost weight.
The comic went on to share a funny story of how he was greeted by his mother when he went to visit her recently: “I went round to see my mum after I lost weight… I was thinking, ‘Where have all my body issues come from?’”
In the hilarious revelation he added: “I knocked on the door, she answered and she looked at me and she went, ‘Oh my god, thank you lord, finally he looks how I want him to look!’”. He joked: “I just felt like, you might be part of the problem…”

Comedian Kevin, 37, chimed in and joked: “You want them to be good… he went a bit too far.”
Romesh and Kevin have a dynamic energy which fans love, with Romesh quick to credit his friend as he called him “one of the greatest”.
“Kev, he won’t want me to say this, he genuinely is one of the greatest to ever do it [comedy]. When I did support for him on tour, every night it was genuinely an honour to watch him do his thing. I just think he is one of the very best.”
He says: “Doing the voice stuff was fine. The bits I found slightly difficult was when they’d say something like, ‘Now, you fall out of a hot air balloon, land on some corn and you’re chased by a robot chicken… can you do those noises?’ And you just go, ‘Oh, oh, eeee.’ That I found difficult.”
Romesh was part of a festive star-studded line up which includes: Claudia Schiffer, Willem Dafoe, Ariana Debrose, Boy George, Kevin Bridges with a special performance from Kathryn Jenkins.
The Jonathan Ross Show Christmas special streams on December 24th from 9am on ITX, and airs the next day on ITV1 at 10:15pm
