S Club's Rachel Stevens has shared the band's emotional tribute to late bandmate Paul Cattermole after he died suddenly in April, aged just 46.
Paul was due to join the iconic pop band for their reunion tour of the UK before he passed away from 'natural causes', but the rest of the band – bar Hannah Spearritt – are still going ahead with the 15 date tour.
Mum of two, Rachel Stevens, 45, has opened up ahead of the tour that kicks off in Manchester next month, as she shared the change to the tour name that honours Paul.
Speaking to The Mirror, Rachel said: “We have renamed the tour. It’s called the Good Times tour, that was Paul’s solo song that he was going to do an acoustic version of, so we just felt like that was so fitting.
"Paul is with us on so many decisions that we make, we think of Paul and there’s so many sort of elements that are there with him in mind. It’s definitely gonna be a huge celebration. It is so much fun, so much joy, lots of memories, and it’s a tribute to him."
Rachel will be joined on-stage by Tina Barrett, 46, Jon Lee, 41, Bradley McIntosh, 42, and Jo O’Meara, 44, and she says that the group – who first burst onto the pop scene in 1999 – still get on just like they did in those days.
She said: “It’s a weird one because so much time has passed, but yet when we’re together in a room there’s so many memories, and so many laughs and jokes that we share from back in the day. It’s almost like no time has passed in some ways.”
Paul's ex-girlfriend Hannah Spearritt was due to join S Club on tour but now won't be, amid claims that she was "pushed out" of the band.
But Rachel refused to pour fuel on that fire as she cryptically said: "The door’s always open for Hannah, but she won’t be on the tour."
In July, during an appearance on This Morning, the band broke their silence on reports that Hannah had been pushed out.
Show host Craig Doyle had read out some reports concerning Hannah, as Jon replied: "I mean, for us, and for everyone listening actually, whenever an article starts with 'a source said' you can kind of take it with a pinch of salt. The one thing they did get right is that we are doing a 15 date tour across the country," he continued listing destinations the band is set to visit before Josie Gibson interjected: "The door is always open for Hannah, is that what you're saying?"
The band agreed the door would always be open for her, and branded claims to the contrary as "nonsense".
But viewers didn't buy it as they took to Twitter to comment, with one writing: "That was a politicians answer #sclub #thismorning and Jo's face spoke volumes!"
Another fan quipped: "Jo's face when Hannah was mentioned is my new phone locked screen display."
