Sally Nugent, 49, took to Instagram to tell fans about her wardrobe mishap, which almost left her red-faced on air today. It comes as the BBC Breakfast host admitted that she misses the make-up team behind the scenes, who are yet to return to the programme amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Taking to the picture-sharing site, Sally uploaded a candid selfie as she prepared for her working day.
In view of her 23,000 followers, the broadcaster gave a smile as she posed for the shot.
Sally sported a navy blue dress that featured gold stars dotted all over the ensemble.
The TV star accentuated her looks with light makeup as she added a pink lip and a light blush to her cheekbones.
Her brunette tresses swept over her shoulders but the sports presenter had brightly coloured clips still in her hair.
Sally penned: “I was ten seconds away from going on telly with clips in my hair this morning.
“I miss our lovely breakfast makeup team.”
Fans inundated the comment section, as people complimented the Breakfast presenter.
One person said: “Still look good Sally.”
Another penned: “Still look fire though. I’m sure no one would’ve noticed.”
“Now that would have made my day. You’re doing a top job love,” a third quipped.
While a fourth person penned: “Hopefully they will be back very soon. However, I think you would have carried it off with style.”

Some of Britain’s most famous TV faces have been forced to appear on screens without the help of their behind-the-scenes glam squads during lockdown.
Despite restrictions being lifted, it appears the Breakfast makeup team are still currently on hiatus.
Sally’s co-star Louise Minchin recently tweeted as she apologised that her make-up was “no longer what it used to be”.
The Breakfast host later celebrated being able to visit a salon in months as Louise underwent a highly-anticipated haircut.
Elsewhere, Sally stepped in to replace Naga Munchetty on a recent edition of BBC Breakfast.
The small-screen star revealed she almost made an error while fronting the programme.
Sally was joined by Breakfast’s political correspondent Chris Mason as the duo discussed the latest headlines.
Her co-star joked the presenter had slipped back into her sport’s role during the broadcast commenting on a seagull mounting another.
Issuing her apology, the sports reporter exclaimed: “I’m sorry. I didn’t even mean to commentate, I just did it.”
BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One at 6am.
