Love Island podcast host Sam Thompson has discussed his girlfriend Zara McDermott’s TV future following her exit from Strictly Come Dancing in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.
In a wider chat about his work with Boots, which sees him present The Locker Room series in a bid to get more men talking about their mental health, he discussed the possibility of an exciting new team-up.
The former Made In Chelsea star and ex-Love Island contestant can often be seen making hilarious TikTok and Instagram videos together, but perhaps they will be appearing on a slightly larger screen together some time soon.
“I have absolutely no desire to not work with Zara!” Sam exclaimed. “I love working with her, it is so fun.
“We’ve never really had much of an opportunity, to be honest. It’s just never been the right time.”

Sam also made reference to Zara’s jam-packed schedule thanks to her work on hard-hitting documentaries for the BBC, including Disordered Eating, Uncovering Rape Culture and Revenge Porn.
“Zara’s mad busy you know,” Sam explained. She’s got, like, two to three documentaries at one time and she’s obviously just done Strictly – she’s been so busy!
“As have I,” he continued. “I’ve had two lots of Love Island, I’ve got my radio show, my podcast with Pete [Wicks] and the other brand stuff that I do.”

Sam then went on to reveal his small-screen aspirations with Zara, as he admitted: “It’s all about trying to find the time, but one day I would absolutely love to.
“If I’m honest with you, I’d love to do a sort of hosting thing with her – like an Eamonn and Ruth! That would be fun.”
Married couple Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford presented on This Morning together between 2006 and 2021, with the former going on to join GB News.

Zara was left disappointed two weekends ago when she became the fifth celebrity to be sent home after the dance-off between her and professional partner Graziano Di Prima and Emmerdale’s Adam Thomas and partner Luba Mushtuk.
Last weekend Adam and Luba became the most recent couple to be eliminated after landing in the bottom two with Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington.
