Janette Manrara has sparked a debate amongst fans as she made a return to work just six weeks after giving birth to daughter Lyra.
The Strictly Come Dancing star and her husband Aljaz Skorjanec welcomed their little girl less than two months ago on July 28.
Now her return to the BBC has lead to discussion over mother's going back to work after maternity leave.
The 39-year-old Cuban-American dance star rose to fame in the UK back in 2013 when she made her debut on Strictly Come Dancing as a professional.
She has now left the main show but has carried on as a presenter of the support show It Takes Two – where she has worked since 2021.
The mum-of-one also presents for other BBC shows and marked her return to the BBC’s morning show Morning Live earlier this week.
Being back in work just weeks after giving birth seems to have ruffled some feathers of the viewers.
She posted a photograph on Instagram of her baby girl watching her on the television during her first appearance back.
Janette captioned the post: "It was so nice to be back on @bbcmorninglive today w/ @gethincjones and the whole gang! But what made it extra special, is that Lyra got to watch her Mami doing her thing at work for the first time w/ her cousins Zala and Tisa.
"So special to know that they were all watching together at home! This photo melted my heart. I cannot wait cuddle her all day now! To all the working moms out there…. You’re incredible and we’ve got this."
Some people seemed to be enraged by her post and took to social media to express their upset.
One critic said: "Do you realise you have a child to look after, you didn’t have her so you could pass her over to your husband 23 hrs a day."
Another suggested Janette was setting a stressful precedent for other new mums, writing: "This isn’t personal and I mean no disrespect, but I wish celebs wouldn’t normalise mums going back to work when their babies are tiny. Most of us don’t want to, aren’t physically or emotionally ready and it’s not what’s best for us. It’s a shame Janette feels pressured into going back so soon."
However many others defended her, one replied: "I can’t believe the negative comments around Janette being back at work. It’s 2023! When I had my son I taught dance and drama. I was back teaching only a couple of hours a work at 6 weeks postpartum. All signed off by a doctor. "
A second added: "It is normal most mothers have to go back to work! There isn’t a magic money pot in the garden!"
While a third commented: "It's not normalising at all – it's a fact that a lot of people have to do this. Also some want to. Whatever is right for each person. Don't knock someone else for doing what suits them and their family."
