Taylor Swift has spoken out about her feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in 2016, admitting the fallout saw her not leave the house "for a year".
Having been named as Time's Person of the Year, the pop star, 33, opened up to the magazine about everything from her career to famous spats.
In 2016, rapper Kanye, 46, released a song called Famous, which included the lyrics: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b**ch famous."
Taylor shared her discontent about the lyrics at the time, but Kanye claimed she had given permission for the lyrics to be used.
Kim, 43, who was Kanye's wife at the time, then released a video of Kanye and Taylor speaking on the phone, which made it seem like Taylor had approved the use of the lyrics.
The full video was eventually released and it was revealed that it had been edited to make it look like Taylor gave consent. Taylor was targeted by Kanye fans on social media following the release of the video, with her posts being spammed with the snake emoji.
Speaking about how it impacted her, Taylor said: “You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar. That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before."
Kim, who has now divorced Kanye, has since claimed that her ex-husband "forced" her to defend him. However, Taylor doesn't seem to have forgiven and forgotten.
"I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard," she told Time.
The singer, who said she thought the feud would "kill" her career, then decided to use the snake imagery and her feelings to create a new album, Reputation.
“The molecular chemistry of that old label was that every creative choice I wanted to make was second-guessed. I was really overthinking these albums," Taylor said.
Taylor's success has only continued to grow and she's put on several new albums since the feud. She's also began recording and re-releasing her old albums to reclaim her masters, which have all proven to be wildly popular.
