Jay Blades, 51, shared a rare picture of him and his partner Lisa Zbozen to announce their happy news on social media just before Christmas. In the snap, his wife-to-be flashed her engagement ring designed by him. He went on to share pictures of the pair from their holiday together in Barbados.

As many congratulated the pair, a Twitter user named Paul K wrote: “Congrats. So is it a race with Will [Kirk] for next toddler in the repair barn ;).”

Shutting down the thought of anymore children, he replied: “No more kids over here for us.”

The furniture restorer has a teenage daughter named Zola from his previous marriage to ex-wife Jade.

It is reported that he also has two other children from previous relationships.

Jay popped the question to Lisa during a sunny festive break.

Announcing his engagement news, he wrote: “Good afternoon all. Lunchtime Treat.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that I got engaged to @lisamariezbozen.

“We wanted to share this news with you as we are very happy & hope to bring the same happiness your way. Ring designed by me & made by @rtfj.”

The furniture restorer’s wife-to-be is a fitness coach, who has a staggering 113,000 followers on Instagram.

After The Repair Shop star popped the question, she shared pictures of the pair on a beach in Barbados.

Jay was seen kissing his fiancé on the forehead as she smiled at the camera.

Lisa commented: “Happy New Year Everyone.

“Thank you for all your beautiful messages in person & online on our engagement.

“I’m very lucky & grateful for everything I have. Thank you for an amazing 2021. Let’s make 2022 even better.”

Jay was previously married to first wife Jade, who he met at university.

In 2015, he left the family home after falling out of love with her.

That year, the presenter said he also lost his business and became homeless, a period he described as “rock bottom”.

Speaking to Susannah Constantine on her My Wardrobe Malfunction podcast, he said: “My marriage broke down, my business, my charity, there was a number of young people I had employed.

“I was a pillar in the community that people used to go to and ask for support in more ways than one.

“When you hit a certain point in your life that you have to ask for help, and you’re in my position – I was someone who was super strong for everyone, but then I couldn’t ask the people I was strong for to help me build me up, it’s impossible.

“They look at you and go, ‘Hold on, if I have to support you, who’s going to support me?’

Jay managed to get back on his feet thanks to a friend who supported him financially and provided him with somewhere to stay.

The Repair Shop continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
